Question Where can I find a good 3.5 inch screen?

4Layertech does sell a 5 inch IPS display, but it does ship from the US. Another option, if you don't mind composite video, would be a car backup screen. I'm planning on using a car backup LCD monitor I purchased for 22 bucks off amazon. I haven't been able to test it (Got to trim motherboard...

    Worklog Chunchunmaru - A PS2 Portable

5/26/22 Exciting news. I've acquired an excellent soldering iron off amazon for $20. While soldering, I was very impressed with the quality and ease of use. It also came with a complementary soldering book, which went over taking care of your iron and how to solder. I could also adjust the...

Question What 3D software should I use?

Like mentioned before, don't cheap out on important parts. Just basic things like the screen, controller, etc. Not to sound pretentious, but don't double post. You can easily use the edit button and reply to multiple comments in one post.

You can also use the case if you're ambitious and experienced enough. Just find an LCD of the same size, and other things. Also a little creativity to make it work.

Question Can you think of anyways of lowering the costs of building a portable wii?

Well, the best and safest way to be cheap relative to other portables is to not include fancy features. In other words, don't cheap out on important things (Voltage regulators, batteries, tools (depends), etc.) For every else, feel free to cheap out. For my PS2 handheld, I'm planning on using a...

Update: I've decided to delay my board trimming for tomorrow, since I'm busy. I've made some new progress though. So I broke the piece that prevents the triangle button from rotating on my PS2 controller. It's a pain, but oh well. I don't want to buy a new controller. Instead, I've decided to...

Question Is it a good idea to use a wii mini for my portable?

You can refer to this guide for getting a four layer board. There's also a trimming guide for 6 layer boards. Although it consumes more power, they're more common.

New Update 5/20/22 Today feels like Christmas day, because I got a ton of stuff. I went to harbor freight and got a nice rotary tool for 22 dollars. It might sound sketchy AF, but harbor freight has a pretty good reputation for their tools. Besides this rotary tool, I’ve been using their...
