    Solved PCB design help

First, you should learn a bit about PCB design. To gain a understanding of the different concepts in PCB design, I found this playlist helpful. It goes over footprints, schematics and other things. Once you become a little more inclined, you're already halfway to remaking this board. A good...

    Worklog Chunchunmaru - A PS2 Portable

9/24/22 I’m back from my small hiatus. Turns out that I have a lot more time this year than last year. Due to particular class placements, I find myself free from the tyrannies of a grad level orchestra. After trimming my first PS2 a few months ago, I bought another PS2 just in case I fucked...

    Worklog My GameCube Portable Attempt

According to different gamecube projects, you can replace the disc drive with picoboot. If im not mistaken, you'll also need either an sd memory card adapter or an sd2sp2 adapter. There are many youtube videos on how to get picoboot up and running.

How should I trim my Wii in order to keep video, sensor bar, and Gamecube controller ports?

I don't think the trim would work. The proposed trim would look like this The colored lines are the controller data lines. The proposed trim cuts the highlighted lines. The trim keeping the memory card and usb ports may work, but you'll have to check the compendium.

Worklog [2022 Contest Entry] SP Liite V2

Really good build! Just wondering, how're the voltage regulators overall? Also, what's the purpose of the resistor and diode on the regs? Is it for controlling the voltage on the regs?

How should I trim my Wii in order to keep video, sensor bar, and Gamecube controller ports?

There's a Wii compendium. You can look at the wanted traces, then figure out where you can trim.

How to stop procrastinating on doing a build

Assuming you're from the US, Harbor Freight has a nice rotary tool for 22 dollars. The diamond cutting wheel is 7 dollars for four, but they're small. Trimming will be a tiny bit difficult, but you should be fine as long as you don't use too much power. Also, wear an appropriate mask and work in...

Question What are the best portable versions of these consoles?

This forum is meant primarily for people who want to turn their consoles into battery powered handhelds. If that's what you're looking for, willkommen mein freund. If you're looking for an emulation device that can emulate the consoles, I've heard a lot of positive things about the Odin handheld.

    The Toyota Siienna

Update: Unfortunately, Elon wouldn't lend me a Tesla, because he has no money :-(. The whole twitter thing has really F'd things up, so I went with the holden commodore. I call it, The Holdeenii Commodoreii. I had to do the super super omega trim. It took strength and will power, but I did it...

    Worklog Chunchunmaru - A PS2 Portable

8/11/22 Hi, It's been a hot minute. I made some good progress: -The PCBs arrived from china. For cheap shipping, two weeks isn’t bad. So, here are the pcbs in their full glory. As mentioned before, This board will hold the regulators I’m using. It’s a pain to wire up the regs, so I put them...

Question Am I missing anything important?

I used a KN-95 when trimming, but I'll probably use something else next time. I got sick the day after. I know some people use painting respirators, face shields, etc.

Question Am I missing anything important?

On a more serious note, you'll also need a variety of sand paper. After cutting, you'll need to sand the board to make sure the layers don't bridge. Also, get a proper mask for trimming. Trust me, cancer's not worth it. Another thing is a multimeter. This will be useful for troubleshooting.

Question Reduce LCD control board power consumption on specific LCD board and run 5V?

Plug in a 5V power source at the barrel jack. If that doesn't work, There'll probably be a voltage regulator somewhere. you'd have to look at the ICs on the board, view their datasheet, and verify the output voltage and input. From my board, I found that this IC is a voltage regulator that...

    Question How to get started?

This is a good start: https://bitbuilt.net/forums/index.php?threads/electronics-101-videos.1224/ This will teach you about the fundamentals of electronics theory. Afterwards, go through the guide hub to understand the anatomy of a portable. Finally, look at different worklogs and observe what...

    Ps2 motherboard question

PS2 controllers aren't advised because they use a ribbon face instead of the typical copper pads third party and other controllers have. Because of the ribbon, you can't cut up the controller. Also, for your first portable, don't worry about making a good reference to new users. The purpose is...
