    Worklog First portable N64 “help”

It's rough, but everything is rough in the beginning and only time, sanding, and persistence will fix that! Keep going :D

    Worklog PS Que?

I've seen that before with our video gear at work, it turned out to be a faulty connection on one of the channels which we traced back to issues with one of the caps, except in our case we lost the green channel. Odds down it's not that issue, but I figure that any hint could help!

    N64 Joystick Converter

I took over a project by TuxDC to use the PS2 controller as an input for the N64 - we got it going with a dual stick setup for PD and GE. I'd be happy to flick you a copy of the project if you wished to make one for yourself :)

    Question Red Board problems

Looks to be wired up correctly, this isn't as much an answer but more my experience (and I'd love to know a solution!). Two things I've noticed (I'm a newbie user): -My red light while charging always flickers -If I test on the board vOut it gives a different potential to the potential across...

    PS2 controller PCB files

For me it's more of a cost thing - I truly don't have much money and have had a pattern of selling the last portable to make a new portable ;) Programming wise, it looks really impressive what has been done so far, but I've a suspicion that Gman wants to pack a few more features into it yet.

    PS2 controller PCB files

Actually I'd like to make a PCB controller-board that I could solder straight onto the PS2 pcb and not have to worry about wires and connections etc. see prior comments: I'm lazy ;)

    PS2 controller PCB files

So is this the project you were going to release the files for online? I've had a project form bugging me and was thinking of doing a cost evaluation on it at some stage :)

Forever 64 - Miniature N64 with built in Everdrive

What a fantastic job!!! Honestly that one made me sit bolt upright with a huge childish grin! Although hide it in a cupboard or something before Nintendo tries to run you for copyright on their next "classic" console ;)

    Worklog PPR

Actually I was wondering if we'd be able to get the schematics at some stage as I got a crazy idea about making a all-in-one N64 portable PCB which would just drop into a case (can you tell I'm getting allergic to wiring?).

    Worklog PiiStationU Portable

Has anyone ever used a charger akin to this one? Looking at it it could probably function as a plug and play. I've ordered a few to have a tinker with them and see how they go :)...

    Question PS2 Battery

I dropped one of these into my last build and have been really glad that I did. They're quite big, not immediately responsive, but are cheap and easy to wire up. I see you're looking at the "red board" there, and the thing I found is that the voltage display needs to be linked directly to the...

    PS2 controller PCB files

Money is a problem for me also - generally if I'm doing anything I'll really try to drill down the cost of the project as much as I can. Usually I've done my PCB fabrication through pcbway, and the free version of Eagle. Although sometimes that makes life significantly more difficult in the...

    PS2 controller PCB files

I'm crazy impressed that there's only one resistor on the entire thing! The reduction in necessary parts is fantastic! As for "will I do anything with this knowledge"...well that might be a money thing by the looks of it. You'll have to give us a link when the files for this project are...

Wii U Battery Dissection and Improvement

They JacksonS - that's invaluable information :D I finally got the opportunity to measure the battery and the Wii U handheld is drawing 350mA, so at 1C it should hose in. Of course the next challenge is finding a battery that'll fit. Going off of guess work it's got to be smaller than 80x45x7...

Wii U Battery Dissection and Improvement

BWHAHAHAHAHA!!! Brilliant!!! I'd not picked through batteryspace yet, I'd been lost in a sea of sites that I just wasn't sure about the quality of the items from. HobbyKing didn't appear to have any of the sort of cells that I was after but they've got them there :D I think I'll need to look...

Wii U Battery Dissection and Improvement

Gidday everyone, So my Wii U started to get battery fatigue, I brought a new "extended capacity" one which turned out to be a dud, got given a refund on it, and decided to improve mankind because there was no information out there on the battery! Li-ion cell measures 42x78x7mm and there's...

    PS2 controller PCB files

Wow! Your JB welds look really professional too! Essentially that's the sort of think I've been tossing around with the idea of doing, except with more easily detached clips and fewer tangled wires lol

    PS2 controller PCB files

Oh you're not wrong about that! For the last one I made I got the breakout boards and FFC sockets for the Wii U. I only had to solder two but then decided after that I'd buy them pre-made! My plan would be to use a Wii U case (or similar) with the controller essentially "distributed" around the...

    PS2 controller PCB files

Actually I quite like the connectors and use them a bit on any PCBs I make custom - mainly I like being able to connect and disconnect things easily, but am always open to suggestions on alternatives!

    PS2 controller PCB files

Fantastic! I'll sit on things for a little while. As of late I've developed an allergy to doing wiring by hand and have been tossing about the idea of doing a portable with as much FFC connecting as possible, mainly because it makes disassembly so much more straightforward :)
