Worklog An attempt to recreate the PS2 PCB

Em The schematics you can find are for TV or other applications, I didn't consider them reliable, so I cloned them.

Screen driver, optional audio amplifier IC, and an STM32 for PS2 Control. It's just a draft, a lot will change.

Worklog An attempt to recreate the PS2 PCB

THERE ARE SO MANY IDEAS, I HOPE THEY FIT ON THE PCB. And the updates continue. The pcb won the custom regulators, but I don't see this power system being powered by connectors or wires, so I added a USB-C PD, using IP2721, simple and reliable, with ESD protections, I've been thinking about...

Discussion Teensy 3.2 use in a Playstation 2 portable

I've also been researching a project similar to what you're doing, but I don't know programming language so I gave up, I don't have the patience for the codes, but I found a project similar to this one, I'm sending you the link here, maybe it will be useful...

Worklog An attempt to recreate the PS2 PCB

Now we have custom regulators built into the PCB, I want to thank @Gman for making his Wii PMS available, it was of great help for my learning in pcbs and has been useful for my projects. Now I want to implement the USB-C PD with usb data multiplezer, but due to the shortage of components, I...

    Guide Video Encoder Pinout

This is really cool. Some time ago I started to do the same work, but I gave up, I had no interest in buying a 15Hz LCD to finish the project. I look forward to seeing more updates on this project.

Worklog An attempt to recreate the PS2 PCB

MOSFET FOR 8.5V VOLTAGE SWITCHING SUCCESSFULLY REMOVED. 1.8V AND 3.3V REGULATORS SUCCESSFULLY REMOVED. Components removed and Playstaion 2 worked perfectly, with that I gain a bigger space in the PCB and saving in the BOM of components.

Worklog An attempt to recreate the PS2 PCB

Starting some component removal tests to make sure the layout follows correctly. First I will remove the stand-by regulators from the 79003, if it works I will remove the switching MOSFET from the 8.5V voltages, and finally some capacitors and resistors from other parts of the board.

    Question PS2 GH-061-51

Send a better resolution image of this part of the board that I mapped for you. The image resolution has to be very good and the tracks are very sharp.

    Question PS2 GH-061-51

Green wire goes to the first controller pad on the board.

    Question PS2 GH-061-51

PCB finish is not good, remove cut chips and file edges of PCB. Another thing, I don't know what your intention is in the project, but for a portable Ps2 you don't need to solder the controller and memorycard 2.

    Question PS2 GH-061-51

You don't need to solder the gray wire, it's just for the vibration motors.

I forgot to mention the dimensions that this pcb has at the moment, the pcb is 82.06mm x 80.87mm.

Worklog An attempt to recreate the PS2 PCB

Glad you liked it and thanks for the comment. Are you the one who created a purple pcb with custom regulators? I remember it was because of a bitbuilt member called The Drew that I started working with pcbs, since then I've been learning. That purple pcb with TPS regulators was an inspiration to me.

Worklog An attempt to recreate the PS2 PCB

After examining the PS2 boards, I decided to try to recreate the PCB as a way of learning, I'm still routing the PCB and trying to reduce its size, this is the PS2 79003 pcb, but I already have the ps2 90010 layout ready.

Board scan BOARD SCAN PS2 79003

I bring another contribution and retribution to BitBuilt. This would not be possible without the teachings and inspiration this site shares. Similar to the PS2 900xx board mapping, this PS2 79003 board mapping has the voltages on the board highlighted in color, making it easier to identify...
