Yooooo super excited to see where this goes, as your Saturn work is legendary!

    Famicom Gboy

I swear this has to be the cleanest G-Boy I've ever seen. Incredible work! As for your comment on injection molding, it definitely can be done but one would have to fund it through Kickstarter or something for it to actually make sense. I feel G-Boy has that potential to succeed as a...

Question What’s the best way to test a trimmed Wii?

A better device for just testing if your trim works would be a RVL-PSU. CrazyGadget sells them assembled or you can order all the parts and assemble it yourself. Should be cheaper than PMS-Lite and more reliable than PTHs. It's good to have one on hand for easily testing trims w/o needing a...

    Tools please!

Roughly equal. Pinecil edges it out imo because of the tips, which integrate the heater into the tip - heats up quicker and can hold its temperature better, but I believe the FX-888D can do more power to the handle. I'd go with the pinecil personally.

    Tools please!

Pinecil wins when considering price to performance. Both are great irons though, and you'll be quite happy with them either way.

    Model G-Boy rev3 case files

I'd advise you to tackle something easier as a beginner project. I usually recommend someone to learn how to solder first, as that is definitely a very importance skill to master. Get yourself a good soldering iron (Pinecil comes highly recommended as a cheap but high quality option, can be...

    Model G-Boy rev3 case files

Not to speak for Gman or anything, but hardly anyone has kits leftover, as most just built their G-Boys as soon as they got them lmfao Your best bet is to part it out & build it yourself using the updated design linked above, since that's really the only way one could realistically build a G-Boy...

    WTB Portable N64

Same here, I think this is one of the first portables I ever saw back when I was first getting into electronics. What a blast from the past! :D

    PS2 Ultra Slim

Looks like you typed your response in the quote, had me confused for a second! Lol Anyway, to elaborate, these HDMI adapter boards convert the *analog* video signal thats normally output through the video out jack on the back of the console to HDMI. These usually come with some latency and...

    PS2 Ultra Slim

Nice ideas here! I'm wondering if you'll be working to retain analog outputs as well with this? I think its good to have options. Would be nice to have a PS2 setup that can be used for capture + output to a CRT or something! Also, side note unrelated to this, could be worth looking into a...

    PS2 Ultra Slim

Definitely was. Someone did manage to relocate the power button by trimming it off the board, but you can also just use a taller normal tact switch per Wesk's recommendation. (https://bitbuilt.net/forums/index.php?threads/ps2-ultra-slim.5077/post-57761)

    PS2 Ultra Slim

I clearly did answer all your questions, if you actually read my answer you'd understand this. Regardless I will elaborate, you cannot modify the case to fit other models. With other models of PS2 Slims, the motherboards take up the entire XY footprint of the original shell. There is not a way...

    PS2 Ultra Slim

Needs to be removed to fit in the case. You still get one port, but it's not as useful as you'd think since its USB 1.1 speeds. Should also be able to use a hub though.

    PS2 Ultra Slim

Nope, 7900x was released in the following regions: 79000 - NTSC-J 79001 - NTSC-U/C 79002 & 79003 - PAL Every other PS2 slim model is incompatible with this project since the 7900x series is the only series of PS2 slims with the small enough motherboard. The 9000x went to a larger board with an...

    PS2 Ultra Slim

I see no reason why not, but a better option is an MX4SIO adapter that just plugs into the 2nd memory card slot. It works the same as the internal mod, but is easily reversed by just removing the adapter from the memory card slot.

    Account Security Reminders

I'm glad you mentioned that 2FA is a thing on the forums, I don't think I would have ever enabled it otherwise! O.o I assume a lot of the issues stem from LastPass's recent breach. This is an extremely common thing thing with them in particular, so it's definitely for the best to consider using...

Question Best way to connect 18650 batteries?

Actually I think theres one on AliExpress for ~$25, but like you said, even then its still cheaper and easier to incorporate battery tabs into your design. Not to mention it helps if you ever have to replace the batteries for whatever reason.
