    BBLoader v1.3 - beta

You don't require anything hardware wise to boot Wii games anymore. Just add them to the wfbs folder as you usually would and they will appear in the Wii section of the UI.

Today I got the little buttons in the mail which have been resin printed on an Elegoo. They look really nice and feel fantastic, a little bit of wet sanding and they will come up even better I hope!! I am going to be honest, the dpad feels horrifically bad with the clicky dome tacts. I didn't...

    Aran Wii Portable

Really? That blows, I usually try my best not to re-use parts for other projects no matter how tempting it may be. I think Elchicogamerx might have been referring to whether the case is open source or not. Wesk hasn't released the files except to a select few people for refinement and testing...

Solved A little help with the RVL PMS

As Gman said the bead isn’t really causing the issues as those caps are all filtering the voltage on VSYS, that wouldn’t cause a short. It’s quite easy to replace the chip with some solder paste and a hot air station. I’d recommend the SMD291AX50T3 paste from Chipquik. Don't give up! I’d also...

I added an official Nintendo sticker from an SP to give it an authentic “Nintendo” feel. I personally think aesthetically speaking it looks really good!

My screen finally arrived from China today. It will be interesting as this screen can display 24-bit RGB and is 640x480, so it should look a lot crisper than the 320x240 display used in the Gboy. It was quite expensive and I am yet to test how the colors look, but I do have a trimmed OMGWTF Wii...

Question I’m kinda new to this

I don't want to come across as rude but you're asking questions that you should be reading up about on the forums. There are plenty of guides available that will answer these questions for you. In the context of Wii portables, if you are using 4 cells you'll most likely connect them in a 1s4p...

So some good news and some bad news. I’d say about 40% good, 60% bad. First, I’m going to need a second board revision because stupid me shorted the power muxer input from the 5v regulator and it’s output pins, resulting in the USB never actually getting 5v and the muxer practically becoming...

I got my parts today from digikey, and soldered the majority of the components on to the prototype rev1 PCB. The BQ battery management chips are out of stock, so that’s really the only missing part for now, as well as a couple of caps I blew away with hot air lol. I still need to clean this up...

    Charge and play

You shouldn’t bump threads that are over three years old. If you have your own question you should make a thread about that. However, to answer your question; there is not really a difference, but back in the day you never were able to charge through the same port and play at the same time. The...

Today I received the PCBs from JLCPCB (finally!) after a month. Usually JLC is fast shipping but because of corona, it took a lot longer than I anticipated. If anything, they look good, so if they don’t work, I’ll have that at least. The quality is always fantastic with them and these boards...

Thanks! I recently got the buttons resin printed in black. I said I was going to go with white resin for these and white switch sticks, but I didn’t think you could go wrong with the black/red combo. The faceplate is also anodized in a matching black colour so I think this will look nice :D:D

Project Spotlight: Switch Lite Raspberry Pi Portable by Dmcke5

It is not often here on the BitBuilt forums that we like to hear the word “emulation” being used to describe fully portable gaming consoles. However, we thought we could make an exception for the opportunity to display the incredible craftsmanship and attention to detail by Dmcke5 in his latest...

Not the most exciting part of the build process, but I have finished painting the three parts to the clamshell. I am really happy with how the paint has turned out - its such a big improvement over the first G-Wii I did - practice definitely makes it easier to do a good paint job. The semi-gloss...

Project Spotlight: The N64 SP – Gman does it again

Although the Midwest Gaming Classic for this year was unfortunately cancelled due to COVID-19, it didn’t stop veteran portablizer Gman from unveiling to the world his brand new perspective on N64 portables. N64 portables have been made since the dawn of time, but in comparison to Wii...
