    Worklog The Wii SPii

The new "Wii SPii rev 1.3 PCBs" arrived from JLCPCB yesterday. The parts from Digikey will be here tomorrow, which means assembly will probably happen this weekend if I am not lazy. I plan on assembling everything in a 3D printed prototype case, and then moving all the components to the CNC'd...

    The Enduro portable Wii

Awesome job! The screen looks crisp, and the colors really pop. This is everything the Waluigii v1 wished it could have been! Keep up the great work!

Question Can I use a Lithuim Ion Lipo Rechargeable Battery instead of 18650 Lithium Ion cells with the RVL PMS?

The PMS will work with any lithium polymer/ion chemistry in a 1sxP configuration, but the main concern is that current for fast charging is set in firmware (3A) which is a lot higher current than a single cell (18650 Li-ion) can generally handle. Currently, Gman has it it set to 3A, which is too...

Worklog Wiiu gamepad wii first projet

I would highly advise against mounting the Wii motherboard with hot glue. You'd be much better off frankencasing in some 3D printed screwposts at absolute minimum. The glue is just going to melt under the temperatures of the Wii, and then reharden in places you don't want it to causing potential...

    Worklog The Wii SPii

Dmcke5 and I machined the top half of the SPii yesterday and then Dan was kind enough to sandblast it for me! Looks like it was carved out of an ice block, I’m really, really digging it.

Question U-AMP mod for WiiHUD Compatibility?

Yes, it is possible to de-solder the microcontroller and solder the i2c/HP pins (SDA/SCL) directly to the Wii's GPIOs as is normally done with WiiHUD. BBLoader interface will act as the master instead of the PIC, allowing you to make volume adjustments using the button combinations. There will...

    Worklog The Wii SPii

Began the toolpathing with Dmcke5 tonight in Fusion 360! It's my first time seeing toolpathing done. It is definitely a lot more complex than just using 3D slicing software. Tomorrow night if all goes well, we may be streaming the CNC machining aspect/more toolpathing, but we will see how it...

Portables, n64 and ps2 willing to pay and give console

Any reason for disc drives? They are pretty useless in every application apart from nostalgic appeal and really will drive up the price of your commission for the PS2, drive down the capacity of the battery and overall just aren’t great. Just something to think about of course.

Portables, n64 and ps2 willing to pay and give console

Gman comes to mind for both of these builds. He usually does stuff on commission though, and doesn’t charge cheap for the quality of his work. I’d send him a DM here or on the discord to try and work something out. Expect to pay above $1000USD! Good luck with your purchase :D

    N64p custom $1500??

You're not going to find a cheaper option for a portable console than $1000USD unfortunately. $1400USD is quite a reasonable price if it is going to be made to a high standard (for example, by Gman).

Question How do i check if my motherboard works

Best (and only way) is to provide power to the rails the Wii requires to boot up (those being 3.3, 1.15, and 1v - assuming you didn't remove the LDO for 1.8v stepdown). You can easily confirm the trim is booting without hooking up any USB drive as well. You will get a black "no USB" screen that...

    Worklog The Wii SPii

I got bored this week since work was quite quiet and thus added all of the components onto the PCB. Some of the non-standard models were hard to find so I didn't include those. Maybe I will make them to put on the board later on though when I get some more time. Back view with all the...

Worklog Wavebiird portable reborn aka Project Phoeniix

Looks like the case has also shrunk slightly as well. It tends to happen when PLA heats up and then cools down, slightly shrinking in the process. Hopefully OP can salvage this though, definitely a shame to see this happen (I have been there before and know the feeling, it sucks!)

    Discussion Share your pets

Obviously I’ve moved to Japan now but back in Australia is my furry friend Harry. He is a Labrador x American staffy. Most people think they are aggressive, but given his a half lab, he is adorable and a gentle soul

Amazing case work! Really makes me excited to give frankencasing a go, you are doing an excellent job - keep up the good work.

    Worklog The Wii SPii

I've been working very hard on making a lot of changes to the PCB (again it feels like it never ends... I make a small mistake and then everything needs to be fixed again kek). I've now incorporated the Bluetooth module and MX chip onboard, as well as a CR1025 cell to power the MX chip for RTC...

This is looking sweet! I love the fact you used the internals of the G-Wii to make everything super clean, neat and tidy. Good luck with the frankencasing, excited to see how this turns out after all of the post processing!
