Any reason for disc drives? They are pretty useless in every application apart from nostalgic appeal and really will drive up the price of your commission for the PS2, drive down the capacity of the battery and overall just aren’t great. Just something to think about of course.

You're not going to find a cheaper option for a portable console than $1000USD unfortunately. $1400USD is quite a reasonable price if it is going to be made to a high standard (for example, by Gman).

Looks like the case has also shrunk slightly as well. It tends to happen when PLA heats up and then cools down, slightly shrinking in the process. Hopefully OP can salvage this though, definitely a shame to see this happen (I have been there before and know the feeling, it sucks!)
