Wait,before you give up check the red board,the one you had problems with,that’s for the audio check if all the wires are properly solder,you may have a bad connection

Just practice and you’ll see that is not too hard to learn,just remember this.

Here is my new (used) GBA with a new screen a couple rechargeable batteries and a charger,two of the batteries didn't work even though were new so i had to opened them and replace them with 2 batteries from the wii controller they are the same exactly size so it was easy to do it

I recommend you to replace the screen with the one with backlight the games look way better,I replaced mine a few months ago as you can see here About the batteries I don’t know if you can maybe somebody else can answer that
