    Question Portable wii problems ??

Is this person on the forums? If they are, I would get in contact with a mod. Not guaranteed anything would come of it, but they could at least get the "DO NOT BUY / SELL WITH THIS USER" role.

Question Can I just purchase a Wii motherboard instead of a console?

The best thing you can do is browse eBay's Video Game Consoles category, then select For Parts / Not Working under the Condition filter. Sort by price low to high, then click on the "I don't give a shit that you think there might be irrelevant results, I'm looking for busted consoles" button...

    Question Portable wii problems ??

Something that's worth noting here: I've done more than a handful of rebuild-type commissions that usually start out similar to what you have here with what looks like one small issue. What ends up happening with builds that look like this is that, even if I were to fix the problem at hand, I...

Wii Omega Trim Commission Request for GC Nano Build

That's a GC Micro, not a GC Nano. The Micro is significantly larger than the Nano, hence the larger trim. The Nano *needs* an OMEGA, and a pretty aggressive one at that (fun fact: the OMEGA sitting on top of the blue Nano will *not* fit in a Nano).

Wii Omega Trim Commission Request for GC Nano Build

To add to what has been said, the reason why most people will not do an OMEGA trim commission is the sheer amount of time it takes to prepare one. With the extra cost of parts ($80 AVE-HDMI) and the many, many more hours needed to prepare the trim (compared to an OMGWTF or even an LMAO), the...

Question Total newbie here! I'm interested in getting into Wii portables.

There is a community-member-made update to the G-Boy case files, with some custom-made PCBs to accept the 4LayerTech suite of boards! Here is a link to that thread. As a heads up, it is not perfect and has its quirks - I made a post later in that thread with my experience building one and advice...

    Question Portable wii problems ??

To start, what Ginger said is the best advice to start. If this a portable you bought from someone and not one you built yourself, your first line of defense is to get in contact with whoever sold it to you. It should be their responsibility to offer service in the event that this is a...

I'm referring to the same clips in the Ashida BOM. Here's a direct link.

Question Getting started on an Ashida - Trim and Power

If you haven't ordered them already, you can use the same tabs used for the battery holders in the Ashida for a 3D printed 21700 holder. I did that and the setup works quite well!

    Worklog Obligatory Ashida First Build

From what I've seen from those who've used DD, it's pretty comparable to VGA when using such a small screen. It's not really worth it to spend the $80 on an AVE-HDMI in a portable either, for the same reasons. Btw that trim looks beautiful! It's very refreshing to see some bang-on trims coming...

    Worklog Obligatory Ashida First Build

What do you mean by the composite caps by the AVE? There are a lot of passives on that line, but it doesn't look like your trim (black lines) cuts through anything that normally doesn't get yeeted anyway. The Ashida is *very* forgiving when it comes to trimming outside the standard OMGWTF lines...

    Worklog Obligatory Ashida First Build

I think he's just outlining the absolute vitals (which are a bit off but mostly good). The black cut lines look good for me, but I would recommend keeping the fourth screw hole, as the Ashida can use it for better mounting of the wii. Like this:

Question Anyone Willing To Get A Hefty Amount of Money For A Dreamcast Laptop Commission?

Might I suggest ditching the disc drive and going for a GDEMU instead? The disc drive will significantly reduce your battery life and increase the overall size of the laptop.

    Question Ashida Wii Attempt

You need to manually switch the screen to VGA by "pressing" K5 to ground on the driver board. You can do that with either a tact switch between the two, or by just soldering a wire to ground and physically tapping it against the K5 pad.

Question How to synchronize the wiimote after installing the rvloader?

You should install the latest version of RVLoader (1.6). Wiimotes can only be synched on the Wii home menu, so navigate there in RVLoader with your gamecube controller, then sync the Wiimote when you see the Health and Safety screen.
