    No need to use as advanced a trim as that (looks like a Louii trim!), you can just use a standard 4-hole OMGWTF. It will make the trimming significantly easier.

    Send some pictures of all of your wiring. I'd also check your resistance between 3v3 and gnd on the GC+ when it's not attached to anything else, just to see if it's shorting out the line.

    As long as you can get the solder out of the holes with a solder sucker or solder wick - and you don't pull the copper from the board - you should be fine.

    I think these ones came in the BOM, I soldered little legs on the sides for support. I just used the trimmings from the LED.
