    Worklog More Ashidas

So unfortunately I didn’t take any progress photos of this last Ashida. To be fair there wasn’t really any issues with building it so it was a very uneventful build. The only really fun/interesting thing I did was to use test pads and the pads for the video caps to make it so no magnet wire...

    Worklog More Ashidas

Second Ashida Done which means it's time for the second update! Since last update, I cut out two more Wiis. One was a standard OMGWTF trim, while the other got a ThunderVolt (TV) and a NAND relocation, then trimmed just around the PTHs. I know it's not the tightest Omega trim, but it's for...

    Worklog More Ashidas

Well, update time! I finally received all the parts I needed, but I ran into a bit of a twist. One of the 4-layer Wiis I had wasn’t really fit for portablizing, which left me with an extra shell on hand. That got me thinking about my very first portable build; it’s been through a lot, and the...

    Worklog More Ashidas

Hi Everyone! I’m starting this thread because I’ve been wanting to get back into making portables and while I’ve already got a project in progress, I figured it’d be a good idea to shake off the dust with something easy and fun. I’d been thinking about building another Ashida with all the bells...

I would say looking at the guides on here, Shanks compendium and streamers vods like gingers videos are a good place to start.

Worklog G-Boy Omega: The Ultimate Modular Wii Build

It's beautiful a work of art! I also see an ESP32 on the board. It might not be used anymore but it would be cool to see it as a wifi or Bluetooth replacement! Love the work so far!!!

[2024 Contest Entry] Thomii MK3 (AKA TBD)

Yeah I think the main issue is that 18500 is like 18650s less cool cousin. I wanted to go with 18650's this time around but design wise it just wasn't in the cards. :(

[2024 Contest Entry] Thomii MK3 (AKA TBD)

Hey everyone, I’m thrilled to share with you my latest project for the BitBuilt Summer 2024 Building Contest: the Thomii MK3. Following the naming conventions of my last two portables, the Thomii MK3 is designed to be a feature-packed, modern take on the classic Wii portable, inspired by the...

Question Ashida build trouble shooting assistance

I would also redownload the firmware from the website it’s rare but sometimes files can get corrupted when downloading them so double check your SCL, SDA, D+, D-, and the format of your SD card then try flashing with a freshly downloaded bin file

Question Ashida build trouble shooting assistance

Did you accidentally flash pms2 instead of pms2-lite firmware? I don't know if there is any difference but your lite is reading as a pms2 so that might be the root of your issue

That is actually @ohkin86 's aliexpress shop! they're the same person that is looking into doing injected molded shells for sale too. I haven't personally used them but I have only heard good things about their service. you can see the thread where they say it is their shop Here as well as their...

    Thomii MK2 (weewii)

So more than a few people asked to attempt this build So instead of steaming ahead onto MK3s design I actually removed some of the scuff from MK2. I made the posts for the switch boards bigger making them less prone to breaking. Widened the hole for the joysticks to accept OEM sticks since I...

Discussion Where do I begin? (NOW FLIP'S FIRST WORKLOG)

I typically tie the end off on a bench lite but that's because I make one big strand that I then cut up into different strips for the signals.

My MK1 I put a little bit too much pressure on the back and the bondo just gave way. I tried to have a different adhesive as a base for support but sometimes bondo just doesn't like adhering to plastic
