Try running multi mod manager, then manually install the NoWifi ioses. That should do it. The USB or SD card most likely isn't the issue, as I've had this problem before as well and manually installing nowifi usually fixed it.

The TI regs should work fine, yes. GCVideo is obsolete imo now that the VGA patches are a thing, just use those with an hdmi adapter, seems better.

There isn't really 'recommended' wire, but its definitely better to go with some form of shielded wire like what is used for the wii wifi antennas. I used those, and barely get interference so I guess they're pretty good.

The GC+ needs both sliders fully wired up for even one of them to work correctly. Do you have both sliders' X and Y wired up? Maybe you messed something up inside the slider while wiring it up? At some point I had the same problem with one of my sliders, but some IPA and more wiring fixed that.

Almost everything looks pretty nice, but on the last step you mention that the via should be properly tinned and soldered to. You then mention figure 5 to go with this. Maybe making another figure instead with an image of how the via is supposed to look would be better?
