Depends, do you mean how to keep it in the case or how to connect it to the PMS? For keeping it in the case, I'd use either kapton tape or a tiny dab of hot glue. For wiring, specifically for the PMS you need to wire it in parallel, 2 cells would connect both positives together, and connect that...

Most of the newer portables actually use USB C via the board available in the bitbuilt store. The main reason you see so many portables with dc jacks is a combination of the fact that USB c is much harder to integrate into a system without a whole custom board, and USB c is still a fairly new...

You're not saving yourself enough space by cutting that *very small* amount of board off to actually put any components there... Also, you can just put the stuff on top of the board. As for the internal angles on the cut, a file won't really help much since the bigger issue is that small...

Once you get the solder mask off, at least 1000 to make sure you don't lose any small traces. Also, good luck trimming this, it won't be able to be a handheld system as it draws too much power, and you won't be able to trim much beyond the ground strip around the outside as all the required...

You can also remove the onboard regulators and then test your custom regulators before trimming, but if you check your regulators before you connect them, you will most likely not have any problems and can just go straight to trimming after testing your relocations.

You only need to get 1 of them, correct. Depending on where you are there are different places to get 18650s, a good US seller is this one recommended by @GingerOfOz . If you are somewhere else there may be different sellers available nearby (as shipping can get tricky for batteries)
