Worklog WiiSPii 1.0 (Wii in an SP Shell)

Now that you have it all printed, how does it feel in the hand? I feel like it may require you to interlock your fingers under it to not cramp up like crazy

Only if you accidentally mess up the front, those pictures look pretty nice for the paint

Yep, cut a piece and sand it up, I wouldn't repaint the inside however, because it'll just wear away onto the buttons

There shouldn't be any force required to get the buttons into the case, they should fall right into place. You may want to sand a bit in the button holes to expand them if you have to put any pressure to get the buttons in. From what I've seen, a few days is a good amount of time to wait for...

Question Would this N64 board work for a portable?

That's not a N64 board, it's just the capacitors and regulators which may sometimes need to be replaced because of rust or other issues

Discussion Ideas, questions, etc, Post em here!

That depends on what tools and materials you already have. Buying new tools and materials can easily end up costing more than the entire project. Additionally, most consoles will end up costing about the same to make a portable, as most of the costs are things you will need regardless of what...

Question SNES heat sinks and such

If you feed the 7805 with a voltage a bit above it's minimum cutoff you won't waste too much power as heat, so that plus a small heatsink would do the trick. There should be some kind of heatsink already in the system, that touches all the chips that need to be cooled, so you can use that to...

    Question Painting

Those "dry to the touch" quickly, so you can put additional coats on after that time, but wait a few days for the paint to fully dry/cure once you have your coats of color on, then do the clear coat, and let that fully cure for a few days as well.

    Question Wii U10 help

I'd say check for shorts, when the light goes from green to off that usually means something is shorted. You may also want to reflow those joints with some flux, and clean all the spots you were soldering with some IPA

    Plywood and Perfboard Consolized MVS

This looks pretty neat, I did something similar as a project for my brother's birthday present, but I built out whole boxes with sticks for controllers, and put a jamma harness on it. Also, That's kinda the point of the site lmao, we build stuff because we want to understand it, or just...

    Question Moving/de-soldering the MX chip

We suggest cutting the section of board out as it contains some internal connections for voltage and ground, as well as the crystal and capacitors needed for proper operation (the two tiny caps on either side of the xtal are required as well). I have a proper pinout of the mx somewhere if you'd...

Worklog GBA SP - Johto Pokedex

Yoo that pcb is a blast from the past, I had one of those as a kid, and one day I took it apart to see how it worked... I'd say start laying it out on a 2 layer to see, I don't really think this needs a 4 layer board, especially since this one isn't layed out very well, kinda looks like they're...
