Ayy clamshell for the first portable? That's a tuff one (At least for me, cause i suck at CAD...)
May i ask where you come from? If you are from europe i could help you out with that trim! (at least something i can & love - lmao)
You using a Wii2HDMI adapter, right? I had some trouble with them, too..
First i had a lot of interference (diagonal lines moving over the screen). Then I found out my adapter just doesn't like PAL games.. no probs with NTSC games...
sure.. even if idk what you mean exactly... cause there is basically nothing on this portable that i didn't borrow from other ppl's portables / that hasn't been done before - lol :D
Thanks & yea, would have loved to try the VGA Mod on this one.. The screen is pretty crappy but whatever...
Anyways... Finished boi, is glowing boi!
Will use the rest of the time to make a (hopefully) nice, little vid about it ^^
Thanks! well... they feel like playing on a switch :D
i'm excited if they are also so insensitive.. like on the switch i always had problems to sneak around in games f.e.. I'll see when i've the shoulder buttons implemented & finally can really play on it.
Thanks! Yea the ps2 usb port gives me...
Ooooh Boi... BIG update today.. i nearly worked the whole weekend on this project & had quite a run.
Just a few things are missing (or already need fixing - lol).
Also.. if you want to see how much i suck at smash, check this out:
Audio might be a little "cracky".. need to fix the left...
hi, nice first(?) project so far.
Just wanted to give some tips on soldering: When stripping & presoldering your wires, cut the stripped part as short as possible / to the size of the pad you are soldering to. Also using some flux will make your soldering joints much nicer!
I also used a japanese wii once, the only difference you will notice using Portabilizemii, is the language of the Wii-Menu. (Prii-/Postloader/other homebrew will be in english).
If you want to change the region of the Wii, make sure to do it before trimming, cause you'll need the SD-Card Slot! I...
Put some work into the front today.. So me ppl... how do you like the WooDii?
This Woodfil stuff is awesome! It smells like wood, it feels like wood & you can sand it like wood. I just didn't have much luck staining it.. but it looks & feels great anyways!
Digipad, ABXY-Buttons & GC+ are...
Here is a little update.
I (think) I finished the CAD work & started working on the electronics.
Everything is working fine so far: The regulators, Wii, heatsink, USB & even BT!
This cheap 40mm heatsink is just great! the fan is made for 12v, but it's also running cool & quiet from 5v.
Oh...
I don't have a wii to trim right now, but could organize one for sure.. PM me if you're interested.
btw: the OMGWTF trim is pretty easy, why not try yourself? :)
Nice work so far! Did you model it in blender? if so, is it any good for modeling 3d prints like this?
My FreeCAD Project is broken again... <.< .... so i need an alternative for the next project(s)
Yea, maybe i'm going to put one in.. but mainly for the homebrew's & maybe one day @Aurelio 's NSMB hack :)
I think we are talking about the same thing:
Nope :P
Are you struggeling with the 3D-design or electronics? I find them much easier to design than 3DS-Sliders.
I can't check right...
