I have many spools of magnet wire… I was just curious if I should use Magnet wire or a different type of wire (something stranded) for the cartridge slot relocation... thanks though @RoseDagger ... I remember @Downing talking about how it’s important to use a more flexible wire for that...

Thanks @Gman ... 32ga Magnet wire? or some sort of minuscule stranded? Still considering a pcb bend or rcp wiring depending on my case design.

Next day, I added heat sinks to the big chips and a cut a copper plate for the ram chips. Learned about ShockSlayer's method of 4 drops of super glue in corners and one drop of thermal paste in the middle. This is an alternative to the more permanent thermal adhesive... Thanks @YveltalGriffin...

Next here, I decided to do some jumper pak trimming shenanigans. Unfortunately, I took it a bit too fast with the trim of my first jumper pak and destroyed it... woops! But luckily I had a second one as a backup. At first i was going to try to just use a trimmed jumper and design around that...

So after many hours of reading and studying about this trim, I finally started the process. Got a rev 05 mobo working and started testing... didnt take any photos of the un-altered board but you know what it looks like already! ;P First step was make it naked and use my new hot air station to...

Hello all. It feels very auspicious for me to be starting this project with the portable n64 build. My interest in building one of these is the first thing that drew me to the BitBuilt community but went down the wii rabbit hole for a while before finding myself here; much more well equipped to...

Hey Y'all, I finished this over a month ago but thought I'd just give it a post here just for fun. (worklog:https://bitbuilt.net/forums/index.php?threads/black-beautii-sparklebears-g-wii-rev-2-worklog.4446/#post-49046) :) This is a G-wii rev2 build, my first non kit portable too... First being...

    G-Wii

That looks like a 16:9 screen. The gwii is a 4:3 design. So I do not think that screen will work for you. Cheers.

Hidden menu on ZJ050NA-08C screen/driver board -- RGB Gain Control

Ive definitely been having tons of fun with my portable. Mentioning SNES games is worth considering the differences between GWii and Louii. Gwii is definitely more geared towards gamecube games as it has the gamecube button layout. Louii is abit smaller and has the traditional diamond layout...

Need help with Strange Screen/driver behavior on ZJ050NA-08C in g-wii.

Hey y'all, Just about finishing up my second g-wii build here and noticed a weird vertical line interference pattern and noise pools in colors on my screen every time I boot up. The strange thing is that when I press source to switch to AV and subsequently switch back to VGA the interference...

Hidden menu on ZJ050NA-08C screen/driver board -- RGB Gain Control

Hey y'all, I just discovered something helpful about the ZJ050NA-08C 5 inch screens/driver board we use these days... I always wondered how to access the RGB levels and it was no where to be found in the menus. Chalked it up to poor design choices. Well, I just turned my g-wii on while it was...

Solved Setting up Rumble Motor inquiry

If I remember correctly, you were not on able to use rumble and memory pack in the same controller at the same time. However, I also believe that some games will allow you to put the control pack “memory card quote in player to controller to be accessed by the game. And rumble in player one...

Dang bro, thats one handsome portable... So stoked to see it coming together in the real. Makes me want to build one asap!!! Good thing rev1 break out board cutout placement mistake will be covered by the wii mobo. Or else I know that would drive you crazy. Rev2 will sort it out I'm sure...

    Worklog Black Beautii -- SparkleBear's G-Wii Rev 2 Worklog. :)

Today I fixed the light leak that would come out through the button gaps from the LED. Pretty simple fix... at first I just tried to use an acrylic paint pen to paint over the we hot glue but the layer laid too thin and wouldn’t cover properly. After letting that the ink dry a bit, I did a sort...

Thanks mate! I appreciate your kind words... When I was setting out to build this, I wanted an in depth log to help me along the way but couldn't find one. I had so much help on discord and learned so much in the process; I wanted other people to be able to make their builds easier. And also...

    Worklog Black Beautii -- SparkleBear's G-Wii Rev 2 Worklog. :)

Great news everyone! The build's final issues seem to have been resolved today! Yahoo!!! The two remaining issues was the VGA being blown out and the screen driver board control menu would pop up randomly. While chatting with @Gman and Pickles on discord today I shared a pic of my driver board...

Good troubleshooting mate! Glad it’s not freezing now. I am curious to see the Bluetooth data solder joints. How did you expose the traces? I had issues with that in the past... I think for the next build I’m going to locate a fiberglass pencil to make a really clean de-mask point for each...

    Worklog Black Beautii -- SparkleBear's G-Wii Rev 2 Worklog. :)

Ok, so I found some time today to hook up another screen to the gwii to see if I can sort out the vga issue. The other screen/driver board look great!! It’s a relief that the Wii video circuit is normal and not blown out. So that brings me to the 5inch driver board being the issue. Can anyone...
