Worklog [2025 Contest Entry] StellaNova - Hand Wired Atari 2600 Portable

I think I have a rough understanding of how a S-Video circuit would be implemented, and it's pretty simple: The TIA outputs 5 separate signals that ultimately define the video signal. You have 3 bits of luminance information (7 brightness levels), your Chroma sub carrier signal (nearly the same...

Worklog [2025 Contest Entry] StellaNova - Hand Wired Atari 2600 Portable

Hi! At the time, I was considering using/reverse engineering the CleanComp mod but I decided against it due to its complexity & use of components that would be very difficult to implement on perfboard. Recently a new CVBS/S-Video mod came out called the Tiara that's nothing more than a couple of...

    Question Regarding Wii NAND Data

Unfortunately dumping the NAND with a programmer is not enough, as you're missing all the console specific encryption keys that you would have gotten through a BootMii dump. However, Error 003 might be recoverable through other means. I would give these WiiBrew articles a read and see if this...

    Seeking PS1 550x Trimming Advice

It was Yveltal for his PS Hanami build. Details here. Yeah SCPH-9001 is in theory a good candidate for trimming if you want to attempt relocating the BIOS ROM & hard wiring a PSIO in. Unfortunately the large DSP chip is required for at least sound. I can't remember if I was able to boot the...

    Question GBA SP keyboard

Since when has that mattered in this community? >:D I think it'd be a cool idea, and arguably could be made more comfortable than a standard GBA, and without much effort would probably be as comfortable as a GBA Macro but you'll still have full native GB and GBC compatibility. The screen mods...

    Question GBA SP keyboard

I get the joke, but you have a really good idea on your hands if you skip the keyboard and go with a standard control arrangement - a foldable GBA SP that's wider and a lot more comfortable would be pretty nice, and you won't sacrifice native GB and GBC backwards compatibility like with the DS...

    Y2K's PS2 Ultra Slim

I think they were asking for my modified files I used, which included removing the PS Button logo from the stand & adding support for that SD card module. I don't have any plans on releasing these, as there are implementations that do a much better job of it than I did (I didn't realize there...

Since when there is a bitbuilt app?

It's a feature that comes included with Xenforo, the software that powers our forums. It's really just a quick link to the site, rather than a proper app. We gained a lot of new features after we upgraded the site to the latest Xenforo version. Also, congrats on your 100th post! :D

[2025 Contest Entry] Turknatr's Sega Genesis Arcade1up Conversion Project Thread!

Ah nice, not a terrible interim solution, but might I suggest giving GBS-Control a try? It's a really low cost way to convert those cheap & normally garbage GBS-8220 scaler boards into very usable hardware with great picture quality! If the monitor supports VGA input, then all you'd need to do...

[2025 Contest Entry] Turknatr's Sega Genesis Arcade1up Conversion Project Thread!

Awesome work so far Ahron, it's really coming together!!! Just out of curiosity, what are you doing for video out to the monitor? Does the monitor have 240p video inputs natively, or are you using a scaler?

    4" 640x480 IPS LCD Investigation (RG40XX)

Amazing work! I imagine this would "just work" with the UT-HDMI035 driver, provided you include a separate MCU to handle the SPI init sequence?

[2025 Contest Entry] Turknatr's Sega Genesis Arcade1up Conversion Project Thread!

Super cool! I love the idea of putting a game console inside an arcade machine, especially the Genesis which was touted one of the best platforms for arcade accurate ports for the time! Are you going to be utilizing a flashcart for this, or will you have an externally accessible cartridge slot?

Worklog [2024 Contest Entry] WavePhoenix - Open-source implementation of the Nintendo WaveBird protocol

Nice idea! I would recommend you create a separate thread in the Selling sub forum in User Trading for this so you can track responses more easily. It'll also get more attention than a reply in this thread. Best of luck to you!

Worklog [2024 Contest Entry] WavePhoenix - Open-source implementation of the Nintendo WaveBird protocol

I recommend using their Quick PCB quote tool, as you can just upload the gerbers and it calculates the important stuff for you kinda like JLCPCB. You can find that here.

    Model Atari 2600 Cartridge

Hey folks! For another project that I have in the pipeline, I needed to model out an Atari 2600 cartridge in an accurate enough way for me to model a cartridge slot around it. I figured I'd share the model with the community in case anyone has a similar need! I make no claims of...
