    Question Moving/de-soldering the MX chip

Nah its not on my board, but iirc @Shank put it on one of his PWP2 pcbs. I think it might be a nice idea actually as relocating MX the "usual" way is kinda ugly and stuff, but hey it works i guess..

Question Where Can I Get a Portable Gamecube (or Wii)

Could you please just edit your previous post if no one has replied after you? Makes stuff less cluttered. Also i’m pretty sure theres a rule against double posting. As a first portable i’d try building a GWii.

Solved Help please, Find the Short

I think its your 1.8v line, kinda surprised no one mentioned it tbh. The LDO (the ic generating 1.8v) is powered by 3.3v, so if there were a short on 1.8v you'd see high current draw on 3.3v as well. Try measuring the resistance to gnd from this pad:

https://bitbuilt.net/forums/index.php?threads/custom-regulators-an-explanation-and-guide.754/ It should be mentioned that the Wii PMS is a better option then the regs recommended there, but reading through this is still a good idea. It might also be a good idea to start your own worklog instead...

Henlo bois, this update is a bit late.. done a bunch of stuff since last time, so its gonna be a bit longer. Since the last time i've done a bunch of changes to the case (all internal, but eh) The supports for the main pcb and screen for example are now much better. When i printed it this...

    Discussion MY first wii portable(SWii)

Can confirm this technique works ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) Tbh if you just remove all the components around the edge and sand it well it really doesn't matter that much how you trim it tho

I like how you're doing everything the old way with frankencasing! Don't see that very often anymore. Looking forward to the end result :D

Damn this looks great! When looking at that comparison pic with the GWii i have to ask lol, how thin is it? Also what buttons are you using for the dpad and "abxy" (lol idk how to type the playstation button thingys) I need to copy that battery cover thing sometime btw, loved it on the original...

So uuh time for an update i guess, its been a while. First: I trimmed a gc heatsink. Since i've had issues with cooling in the past, and since i had space for it anyways, i decided to make it quite large, as you can probably see. The fan is the standard 35x35x7mm fan everyone always uses. I...

    Question Getting started with EAGLE

I have to agree with Grebbles on this one lol The schematic/pcb linking stuff just seems so primitive compared to eagle.. Then theres the fusion integration, and eagle has the package generator now as well which is quite neat. I wouldn't call it inferior when looking at just the pcb design part...

Those are the i2c pins used to control the STUSB4500 on the usb c board. If you're not using that board you can just leave them disconnected.

Do you have another computer you can try it on? If i'm using windows i always just format it to ntfs first (using the stock tool) and then use Guiformat to make it fat32. Do you have acces to gparted in some way? It would be pretty easy to fix it that way.

After spending way too much time on this to tweak it, i finally got the shoulder buttons just right. The soft tact is on a separate piece thats glued in, and the hard (red) tact is glued in as well. The actual button is inserted from outside, with a hook snap mechanism thing. You can see how it...

No, sorry, they are very much not universal and i don't plan on selling any designs. Once i complete a portable with them and know the designs are good i might open source everything though. But don't expect that to be anytime soon, as it'll take at least a few more weeks to finish my current...

I always bought my PTHs from farnell since they have a UK stock, they are quite cheap there. I used a proxy order thing though https://muxtronics.nl/onderdelen/ because you apparently need a KVK number to order from them directly. Looking at it now it seems the owner shut it down, so i dunno how...

If you need a 4 layer wii, i've got two laying around, you can have one for 15eur if you want :). Usually theres some good stuff on marktplaats (the dutch ebay thing), but if not theres this convenient site: https://www.mariowii.nl/wii_spel_info.php?Nintendo=Wii_-_Originele_Reserve_Onderdelen...

Over the past few days i did a lot of cad stuff, as i need to wait for my boards anyways. And all i can say is damn. The prusa really is that good. The surface quality on the first layer (top and bottom) for example is just perfect, i literally can't see the layer lines even though its not...

Well its not going to help with interference, but I don't think it'll be a problem. Heh i've had wiimotes on a stock Wii work through concrete ceilings.. So yeah its probably fine.
