    Worklog First N64 Portable

Okay interesting. Must have really steady hands to do the trim with a Dremel. Unless he has a jig which can adjust the depth of the cut... Could be able to 3d peint something like that but it's a lot of work for something that can be done with a blade. Regardless my expansion pack is on its way...

    Worklog First N64 Portable

I think I'm going to have to perform a bend on the expansion pack. I've read using a razor blade and going slow, doing around 10 passes works well. Never heard of doing a bend with a Dremel.

Great thanks! I guess before I perform my trim I'll test out my cartridge relocation then get on with that and post my results. I don't think I'll be doing a cartridge bend, seems too advanced for now and I think with a 5-7" screen I won't be worries about that extra space.

    Worklog First N64 Portable

Hi all! Long time lurker, first time portable builder. For now I'm calling it the M64 (M for mobile) but the name is subject to change. I intend on making this thread a worklog but also hope it could be a place to bounce ideas off of more experienced members of the forum. A bit of background...

    Worklog Fusion64

Cool thanks for the reply. Ive had my Fusion360 student account for a while now even though I graduated 2 years ago, so I'll see if I can also get a copy of EAGLE along with it, my student email never expires so I should be good. I'll look into those PCBs makers, I'm in Canada so I'm sure...

Damn those PCBs look slick. Are you using EAGLE to make them? I haven't any experience designing PCBs but have a heavy background in CAD modelling (for school and work) and I'm super curious about learning the program. @Noah on another note, where do you order PCBs from?

    Worklog The eNVeGA 64

That would be awesome, I saw the GC+ and it's pretty smart. For now I may tear apart a first party controller but it saddens me to do so... Or I'll hold up and start coming up with a BOM for my own portable before chopping it up.

    Worklog The eNVeGA 64

Hmm alright. I may try but it seems as though it may be a pointless endeavor. I'm a mechanical engineer and focused on design specifically in additive manufacturing in my studies, so I'm really open to hacking this thing together as well. I have an OEM controller I'm willing to sacrifice and I...

Great job! What kind of screen did you use? Im starting to gather my BOM for a portable and looking for decent screens that come with drivers. Also did you use a regular controller and chop it up?

    Worklog The eNVeGA 64

I've seen the RDC name get thrown around the forums (long time lurker, haven't really posted). And I can't for the life of me find any way of getting these PCBs, I assume RDC just makes them for Downing? I'd love to get my hands on some.
