    A Side Project

I had considered a 3ds xl case but I wanted it to be smaller. One other problem I had with it was the keyboard that I'm using. If I put it into a regular 3ds case my thumbs can easily reach all the keys without having to stretch. In the 3ds xl case,it's harder to type comfortably while holding...

Yeah dude, send it my way! Thanks!! The teensy is what I was planning on using, I have it already. Okay, maybe not so much of an update but you guys might find it interesting enough - the screen driver board modifications are complete. As a reminder, the big problem with my board is that...

Found the driver to my screen. Might not be toooo bad (to relocate the caps and other components to the side in order to fit it all in the top half of my case). First thing's first I suppose, as a proof of concept / sanity check, I ripped off the cable connector and soldered the 5v from my...

Oh sweet, thanks for those links, I hadn't been able to find any that cheap. The 3ds slider can be used as a joystick for games, for sure, I just can't remember how easy it is to make it double as a mouse in rasbian. Ahh I see, that'd be cool then to scrap the controls, move the keyboard to the...

3ds slider can be made to function as a mouse, I think. Or at least, I've been operating on that premise so far. The Nyko battery actually has a similar charging cradle, but is sold separately and may or may not be worth the money (not for me because I'm okay with the regular charger).

The thought has crossed my mind, and I don't love the idea of it, but if it comes to that I don't think it'll be a problem. It's ambitious for sure, but as far as I can tell, it's doable. The plan for the pi is to not only remove the gpio pins, but all connectors, hdmi port, composite port...

Okay here's where I'm at for this. I feel like I want to use the 4.3" screen. Such a snug fit. I'll worry about the hinges later... not sure how to rig that up. Also I'm kinda worried that the driver board won't fit into the top half of the case. I think it may though, but I might have to...

Yeah, @Fruity_Grebbles hasn't been on in a few weeks, but if anyone's interested maybe pm him, and when he comes back he'll probably sell you one cheap.

    The Nintendo Switch... Thoughts?

Agreed, 100%. It is an ABOMINATION that Nintendo does that in the place of creating new content. The hope is that porting wouldn't use up all the resources. For me, Mario Maker is a must, I absolutely love that game. I'll get the Switch either way, but it'll be annoying to have to keep my wii u...

    The Nintendo Switch... Thoughts?

I'm definitely excited about it, but hopefully they finally get third party support like they claim they will. But Noah has a bit of the point, a lot of the major third party titles that aren't made for Nintendo can easily be played on PC anyway. Super Mario 3d world, Mario Kart, Mario Maker...

    Worklog Luke's Wii Portable

I can't in good conscience output composite to a 7" screen; if my current screen doesn't support anything else it means I'm buying another one. I won't be using that jack for video input of any kind, but am toying around with using it for composite out (I'm not using the original circuit board...

    Worklog Luke's Wii Portable

Thanks guys! I got this thing for $10. Apparently it's normally sold alongside another portable display with an actual dvd player inside it, and is meant to be connected to that so you can have 2 screens to view the dvd (for whatever reason). I lucked out stumbling across this not being sold...

    Worklog Luke's Wii Portable

Seems like another worklog would do these forums some good, so here's one from me. So how I usually do work is I complete like 95% of the project in like a day, and let the remaining 5% weigh me down because I'll be afraid that it won't turn out as good as I hope or whatever other excuse. As...

    Discussion n64 custom motherboard

Your only justification is to avoid the "relocation" and "wiring mess" of a normal project, which isn't NEARLY enough justification to make it worth it. Remember, a board redesign is no easy task, and beyond that, you'd have to pay someone to relocate every single necessary component from an...

    Question wavebird board layout

Can you not just scratch it off over the traces that you need to wire to, in the same way you would scratch away the green epoxy that's on most PCBs? And anyway, unless I'm mistaken, there should be solder points to most or all of the places you need to rewire, so I think you can trim it...
