    Emulator Cover Development

I'm kind of torn on this. At 120*120px it's not like, incredibly obvious that it's just a scan. Zoomed in box art is actually what I have now on my wii, but it bothers me that the best possible 120*120 area isn't standard across all boxes.

They're a bit rough, but to get a feel for what looks good, what do you guys think, better 1 or 2? Box art? Something else? Same style would go for other emulator covers.

    Emulator Cover Development

I've kind of been considering the idea of creating a bunch of covers that anyone could use. Hmm. So many though. If I did could they be hosted here? (For context, this would be for PortablizeMii emulators. At the moment there is only one cover per emulator and if you want a different cover per...

It Bothers Mii A Wii Bit

Yes, I would very much like to see this article as well. Since many people here (and SS too I had thought) seem to think gc portables are pretty pointless. I want to quote this in the PPR thread so bad >:)

    Portablizing Console Tier List

Something I think people don't talk enough about is unportablizing, or, turning an already portable gaming system into one that is dependent on an external power source and screen. We should have a contest / tier list for that.

    Portablizing Console Tier List

Cool idea, good list. Here are my thoughts. My heart wants n64 to be top tier because there's no real reason it shouldn't be except that the wii is super OP right now with all the custom software and support that it's getting. But with the way things are looking, n64 seems to be about to be...

Question Calling all noobs (noob question thread)

A few of the best pieces of advice I can give you at this point are: 1) Do as much research as you can before you ask a question. The forum is willing to help people, but not spoon-feed them every step of the way, especially with the wealth of information that is already out there. 2) When you...

    Solved _o f f i c i a l l y_d e a d_ i n s i d e_

Scraping traces is annoying but not impossible, even with all the crap that's on there. The answer to your question "can I solder to the metal thingy" of the 3rd party controller is yes, yes you can. Soldering to the traces of the white board will be more complicated, but if you need to save...

    Solved _o f f i c i a l l y_d e a d_ i n s i d e_

Chances are, yes, you can either solder directly to the metal under the buttons or at least somewhere farther back on the trace to make the connection. You could get a small piece of wire and make these connections by hand to verify. But like Bakuku said, post a picture if you're still confused...

Yeah I need to get back on this. The hinge is holding me up pretty bad right now. I don't know what to do about it.

Guide How to wire a Stereo Headphone Jack

So I'm assuming that speakers plugged into a Class G amplifier would be way too soft? Also, would you mind pointing me in the direction of the ICs that have both integrated? Maybe something like this, which I saw some people talking about on MR way back when? Anything similar/better come out in...

Question Adding Headphone Jack to Amp?

Sorry I can't be of more help. Reading about your amp online, it seems to be pretty tiny, works best with 4ohm speakers and max 3W output per channel, and doesn't have much of a protection circuit; it says powering it without speakers connected can damage it, or reversing polarity can damage...

Guide How to wire a Stereo Headphone Jack

So what I had originally posted is no good. See below for a discussion on how to properly wire audio amps that support speakers and headphones.

Question Adding Headphone Jack to Amp?

You have it wired up but without headphones plugged in, and it changes the performance of the speakers? No, I have no explanation for that. Not sure what to tell you, maybe another picture will help. As I said above, I believe that psone screen audio jacks are a bit different, in that they...

Question Adding Headphone Jack to Amp?

I'm not certain that that jack you are using isn't a mono jack, do you by any chance have a link to where you bought it, or perhaps a pinout? Regardless, it looks as though whether it's mono/stereo, the pin you've wired ground to isn't the actual ground of the jack. EDIT: Yeah, that's...
