SOLD - WTS Custom Molded Buttons

Hey guys! As some of you know, I've started playing around with resin casting. I've decided to sell some of my completed sets since they're piling up, but I have a lot more not pictured if you're interested in (for example) ds abxy buttons without a dpad, or buttons with small imperfections...

Worklog Gamecube Portable: Let the Games Begin

Yeah I used the same bit as you, the sanding drum. I sort of make a bump with the epoxy so that it's definitely not an indent. I have a dremel micro and i set it on power 2/5 until I get close to the case, then 1/5 to get it closer, then I hand sand until it's smooth, then bondo and sand to fill...

Worklog Gamecube Portable: Let the Games Begin

I use my dremel and it goes pretty fast :D you should try that to get the rough shape, then hand sand the fine details

    Worklog World's Smallest Gamecube

Sadly, no. I bought the ones that seller had, so you'll have to just keep an eye out for more. Eventually they have to pop up

    Worklog World's Smallest Gamecube

Okay, okay, it's not really a Gamecube, it's a wii. The idea of having a mini Gamecube has been around for quite a while, and once I even went so far as to see how small a gc motherboard could be while keeping it to scale. Obviously I'm glad I didn't make it because I discovered this wonderful...

Worklog Gamecube Portable: Let the Games Begin

I learned the same thing on my gcp :) Spot putty is so soft that it is best used on like pinholes and small scratches. What I do is use excess epoxy to fill in the gaps more than necessary, then sand it down with my dremel. It's a lot more solid than using spot putty, and quicker than slowly...

    Worklog The Gearshift (Completed)

I decided on "oil brushed bronze" Rustoleum paint. I wanted something metallic like a gear, but thought anything really metallic like silver would show off the imperfections too well lol. This is sort of an odd color, it can be metallic bronze, dark grey, or black depending on the lighting. It's...

    Worklog Miceeno's N64 Portable

    Seriously great work :D

I was thinking maybe silver but I'm not sure yet :)

    Worklog The Gearshift (Completed)

Sanded and primed :D speakers will go on the bottom (not the back) so this is basically everything except the charging port, which the epoxy is drying on. The battery covers and a printed out cartridge cover were epoxied on and sanded, leaving only 4 screw posts. I took apart the video...

Worklog Greasy Idiot's First Portable (WIP)

Well I still recommend not painting them :P If you paint them, you have to clear coat them, and those layers add extra thickness to both sides of the button. That could be enough to make them not fit right in the button guides without sticking. Idk if there's time before the end of the...

Worklog Greasy Idiot's First Portable (WIP)

Deo is right here. Please don't paint buttons lol. For one thing, it makes them thicker so they don't press as nicely in their holes, and for another the paint will wear down. In a normal controller that might be okay, but it's kind of a shame to put so much work into a portable knowing that the...

    Worklog The Gearshift (Completed)

Hey that's awesome :D yours is a lot more professional than mine ever will. Speaking of cosmetics, sanding in 100+° heat is no fun and even my primer won't go on right because of the heat and humidity lol. Painting it before the end of the contest may not be an option if it doesn't cool down...

    Worklog The Gearshift (Completed)

I know I'm not the first person to do one of these, but did you do one too? Sorry my memory is terrible haha

    Worklog Miceeno's N64 Portable

WHAT IS THIS SORCERY?! I can't believe you made that. I can't even wrap my head around how you got it so detailed and perfect. Seriously awesome work :D

Worklog Sneak Preview of my second portable

Oof. So many good portables this year. Are those buttons / sliders 3d printed?

    Worklog The Gearshift (Completed)

I forgot how much work just the case is haha. Here's the case with the major parts put in. It still needs the smaller buttons like start, select, power, etc, but those can be put anywhere so I'm going to do those all last. I decided on ps2 buttons (but proper joystick layout) even though I...

    Worklog The Gearshift (Completed)

I know I'm a bit late entering the contest, as I've been a bit short on ideas this summer. However, I believe I finally have something worth building, so hopefully I'll be able to finish within a few weeks. The idea behind this project is to have a "portable" with a screen, wireless controller...

Model Wii S Lite 3d Printed Models

I may have grabbed an older file on accident, or I may have uploaded one without the fan vent, thinking that people could design their own vent and not be stuck with metroid :P I'll take a look at it tomorrow and update it for anyone who wants the fan vent too
