    Worklog Various Cosmetic Console Mods

I'm calling this project officially done. I have to take it apart again because the pointer stopped working (I believe closing it up caused two wires to touch) but here it is. Everything is functional and working great (except that one bug lol). Lights on :D Lights off :D Here's a...

Question (wii portable) What to buy/case

It's exactly like Jefflongo says, we can't hand pick parts for you because every single portable uses different parts. The BOM is a list of helpful things that are commonly used, but they are in no way the only things you can use. That said, I usually recommend that new portablizers don't try to...

@Kevin Price Please be sure and read through the Bitbuilt Rules :) Instead of double posting, please use the edit button if you have something to add. https://bitbuilt.net/forums/index.php?threads/rules.41/ As to your problem, my money would be on a wiring issue. If it was working before, but...

Solved Where would I find a wasp fusion?

http://www.ebay.com/itm/252972606159 I had to search the literal bowels of the internet, but I finally found one. (Typed Wasp Fusion into eBay). But don't buy it, seriously Wiis are better in all ways, and also easier. Listen to Shank :D

There are two left that I see. One is like $50 and the other is part of a larger gba bundle that is much more expensive. I keep an eye on these fairly regularly and there are usually 3-5 on eBay at any given time in the $30-50 range. You just have to try different key words...

    Worklog Various Cosmetic Console Mods

After quite a bit of testing, I was able to make a unique A button for the zapper gun. I've decided on a metroid theme (big surprise) and the A button will be a custom metroid one as shown here. I plan to make a guide on this in the near future, for anyone interested :) The main body of the...

Whats the voltage of the 8 bit console?

If you get one without a power brick, make sure you know whether the plug is center positive or not. Most plugs are, but I've come across a couple come systems they were center negative. Don't want to run the electricity in backwards :)

Your soldering looks very messy. I recommend that you remove any extra solder, and get rid of flux with some rubbing alcohol. Then use your multimeter to check points that are next to each other for shorts. Most likely you have pins touching that shouldn't be.

With batteries, "physical signs of wear" really only include holes in it and/or flames. I'd definitely keep an eye on it if you plan to keep using it lol. I wouldn't expect it to last long

My guess would be probably not. If it was manufactured over 20 years ago, it might not work at all, work for a short time and stop, or not hold a charge for long. Personally, I'd rather custom build a rechargeable battery for it than use an old one. But if you really want to know, there's only...

Hmmmm. Try what Jefflongo said, make sure that everything is connected. Did you tape up your chips before trimming? If it was working right before you trimmed it, and doesn't now, maybe some metal dust got in there. I'd go over the edges again with a high grit sandpaper too just to be sure.

Do the chips heat up when you turn it on? If you get your video working but not your audio, you could try this from Kasar's gcp guide. As a disclaimer, it's not part of the guide here, so it may be outdated, but if you can't figure it out, it might be worth a shot.

My advice is to not do a ds lite style one. It presents a lot more problems and obstacles than it first looks like lol. It's harder than it looks and won't be as sturdy as if it were one solid piece of plastic.

I don't have a clear picture of the NAND, so idk. I also have no idea of your ability. Pretty much any board is recoverable if you have the know-how and ability, but if you're struggling with cutting the board to the right size, it may be easier to get a new one. I'd say you should try, but get...

Do whatever sanding you can, then check to make sure your voltage lines aren't shorted to ground. If they look okay, you can try booting it up. It seems that your trimming is mainly having troubles due to lack of planning. You need to cut outside of the red line and then sand down to it like it...

No? If you plan on drilling into it, you'll mess up the paint and the sides of your new holes will be unpainted. Painting is the last thing you should do.

Weirdest thing you've found inside a console?

Somewhere out there, there's a hot chocolate drinking fingernail biter with short, dandruffy hair.
