    Audio amps

I just received a couple prototype audio amplifier boards from JLCPCB. It's a legit miracle, I've soldered and tested them and both of them worked! So I thought I'd share them with you guys. First, I made them both to fulfill these req's: Analog audio input Analog (potentiometer/volume wheel)...

    Discussion Batteries

I like using adapters from old external HDDs or cable modems, those things often have the necessary amps.

    Portablizing BOM

I think the actual lesson there is 'don't trust ebay descriptions' rather than 'chip is bad because it doesn't work well with components it's not designed for'

    Portablizing BOM

I think they're great as a cheap-and-simple solution for hp/speaker functionality--I certainly haven't found any <$5 solutions that could compete. Unless you're eager to design a custom board I think they're pretty much the only game in town. I dunno if @Stitches received his and tried it out...

    Worklog Project: PS2pocket - Brazil

Very nice work! I really like the header connectors between the two parts, it solves a lot of spaghetti wiring.

    Question PS2 Battery

You can't adjust the output voltage with that board, it just gives you whatever voltage the batteries have. Your options are to either use a boost circuit to up the voltage or to hardware mod the PS2 to work with lower voltages. A voltage meter can give you a heads-up before the batteries die...

    My PS2 handset

Oh, right, taobao. I found another seller who didn't want 350 Yuan for shipping to Europe, I'll probably do a thread if I get the boards. Thanks!

Hey, I've been looking for that exact LCD driver board! Where did you find it?

    Worklog PS2p -compo entry

A PS2 controller emulator would be great! I saw on psx-scene I think they managed to make one out of a teensy 2.0, but they had it hooked up to a rpi to make it work as a bt adapter for the ds4 and such. I've had in mind to adapt it to read button inputs instead, but I'm much too lazy. Which...

How would you wire a battery directly to a MircoUSB female

You can't wire the battery directly, you need a charging circuit.

    Portablizing BOM

I've ordered a couple and tried them out, so I can confirm that the HP switch function works when plugging the phones in. They sound not-too-bad hooked up to a couple Wii u Speakers, though the max volume's not very high. If anyone has any specific tests in mind I could probably give them a try...

    Portablizing BOM

Not sure if somebody else has used it, but I found this cheap amplifier board using the LM4863 chip: It pumps out 3+3w, and can be run off 5v (or possibly less), and it's got a headphone mode that kicks in when plugging the phones in. No volume control though, you'll have to wire up a wheel...

Question Controller help with Nintendo Switch-like Raspberry Pi Console

This guy seems to have gotten it working with regular joycons: http://www.instructables.com/id/PiSwitch/ It does seem like a fair bit of config is needed, but it's definitely possible

Question Controller help with Nintendo Switch-like Raspberry Pi Console

Teensies are great, but I don't think they're a good solution for a wireless use case like this. I think you're better off using a couple of cheapo bluetooth controllers like these: https://m.aliexpress.com/item/32811514278.html Or https://m.aliexpress.com/item/32812338402.html You could cut...

Question Controller help with Nintendo Switch-like Raspberry Pi Console

Wouldn't it be simpler to cut up two gamepads, keep the circuitry in each, and map each of them to one half of pad 1 in software? Then you could use each independently of the other.

    Worklog PiiStationU Portable

I'm working on something like this too! There's a great worklog at sudomod about a guy who did a Wii u RPI, with pinouts for the original Wii u buttons and stuff. I'm using the same screen, trying to figure out a solution for audio and controller at the moment.

Oh right, I found this pretty interesting site when googling: https://sites.google.com/site/lcd4hobby/5-lcd-as-pc-hdmi-av-tv-multidisplay It's got some stuff on how to access the ~secret factory settings menu~ that may or may not be useful, among some other things

I've seen v29 boards with ypbpr, so I don't think so -- sadly they're not common. From some random datasheet I can't find any other difference than "(V59 for the 3D video decoder, USB function support)": http://www.nodkaindustrial.com/download/ND-JX-V2959.pdf You're probably correct about the...

Yeah, that's why I asked ;) I've seen a couple of boards with this chipset that do have a dedicated ypbpr header or RCA jacks, but maybe you can fool it into accepting RGB as well? It would be sad to have to settle for composite input when the LCD and controller can do so much better.

Which display interface will you use? The chipset supports ypbpr, but it's usually not programmed correctly.
