Portables take a ton of work to make. Unless someone says they're making more of a specific portable, or that they're doing commissions, you might as well attempt making your own :)

I have a spare GC disc drive that I actually trimmed up a bit lying around, if you’re interested in trying a new one. Don’t have a GameCube anymore to guarantee that it works, but there’s no reason it shouldn’t. I’ll add a pic when I get home.
