    Question Custom Controllers

the best resource for you is this: https://github.com/dekuNukem/Nintendo_Switch_Reverse_Engineering though it is pretty daunting for someone without a lot of knowledge connecting to a switch won’t be as simple as attaching a bluetooth module to arduino as signals must be sent in a certain way...

Discussion Wii Power Management System (open source)

depending on your knowledge of the circuitry and/or experience with pcb design you could modify the pms to only supply 5v(for the pi) and keep the quality of life features, it should be more cost effective

Raspberry pi kit that requires soldering

i think the simplest you could do is soldering headers to a pi zero, but that’s kind of it with just a pi. other projects may directly solder wires to the gpio but it’s almost the same thing. with external parts like pcbs you can solder to the pads

Question Recommended beginner projects or other things that get someone familiar with a soldering iron?

it really depends on what you want to do, but a soldering kit like this one could be a good place to start. the problem with a cheap soldering iron like the one you mentioned is that it might develop bad soldering habits like cold joints, large blobs, and other things you generally want to...

Question How do Boards Typically Handle Voltage Variation?

i’m a bit of a noob so take this with a grain of salt: unless your battery output is a constant 12v, you’d want some kind of regulator. if the voltage output is just above 12v then an ldo might be a good choice, but otherwise a buck converter is probably the best

    crude diy mic?

so i’ve been itching to build something lately, preferably something with an actual purpose. to this day i’ve been using my computer’s internal mic and it’s pretty average. what i’d like to do is somehow hack together a mic on par with or better than my computer’s mic. so far i’ve looked into...

i’m not trying to be rude by saying this, but why use a linear regulator? aren’t switching regulators much more efficient?

    Question Smallest possible Omgwtf trim

realistically you’re probably going to be spending more than $370 for any portable so i don’t really understand why you said that, but i get that you’re trying to do your own design. good luck, i’ll be sure to check it out

    Question Smallest possible Omgwtf trim

uhhh the omgwtf is as small as it gets without a nand relocation. it fits into pretty much anything and there’s usually no need for lmaos. what makes you think you need a lmao? (i’m genuinely curious)

    melee custom gcc motherboard

so i saw this on youtube and i was intrigued: from what i can gather it’s a custom gcc controller with modifications made for high level melee. they seem really expensive at $250 for each board. i don’t really know much about melee, so could someone with more knowledge than me explain what...
