Unfortunately, my trim does not quite fit inside of the footprint of a Wavebird controller. Before I resort to extensive case modification, is there anywhere I can further cut down my mainboard?

Sure 'nuff. It was the U10. Back in working order now.

Well, it worked last night. I put heat-sinks on it and this morning it seems to be caught in a bootloop of sorts; It's blinking between black and "no signal" on my little screen. Any ideas?

Regulators are done, and looking good if I do say so myself. Voltages are all very close to the required values.

Parted stuff out for my regs: Did a little test layout: And as an added bonus, I also got a driver board for an LCD I've had laying around today, so I built a stand for that. After cleaning up, I'm pretty happy with my new setup. The goal with the trailing component leads on the...

32.3 on the 1v15, 1v is around 100 though? edit: 98.8, to be precise.

Coolio. Simple continuity? Or are there acceptable resistance values?

Ah, okay. So that requires I have the regulators complete first?

Started sanding and opted to lop off the USB portion as well. Did a rough sanding with a dremel, and once it no longer "looked like a pack of hamsters chew the edges off (thanks @Shank)," I went at it with some 400 grit. Reg time.

    Mini Keyboards

Yes indeed. If you order more, price goes down proportionally, as economy of scale makes shipping relatively cheaper.

    Mini Keyboards

Absolutely! They work as standard, regular-'ol USB keyboards. So anything that will take a keyboard will work with these, Raspberry Pi's included.

I retained the USB for mounting purposes, but I'm really worried I cut too close on top. Obviously this is extremely rough, I have yet to even de-burr it, but I won't bother sanding if I've already goofed up. How's it look? Edit: Aurelio assuaged my fears. Sanding time.

Didn't have a sensor bar, did have a pair of tea-candles. Anyways, time to start trimming!

Regulators, my video converter, and some finer wire and solder came in today. Waiting on my filter caps and wavebird controller(s). I didn't realize that the pin spacing on the regs was so non-standard :( So much for my proto-board idea.

Question Best way to bond Metal and ABS?

I think you're better off going for a metallic finish on a plastic case. Paint can do wonders. I know you've invested a lot of time on prepping this metal piece, but I think it's better not to invest more if it has such a large chance of failing. Just my $0.02.

Question Anyone have a scan of a wavebird bottom shell?

I couldn't find one online and don't have the means to scan it myself. It's a bit too organic to think about measuring and remodeling. If someone could take a scan, I'd appreciate it.
