So I did my six layer trim and everything seems to be working fine. Now, there's been the issue of vertical space. I think my solution will work nicely: Everything thus far has been cemented in place with melted ABS, but I plan to do additional filling with Bondo shortly.

Hey, wouldn't you know it; A 6-layer board fits inside of a wavebird profile just fine. Alright, that's the current trajectory.

I have a bunch of 18650s from various sources. Is there a method I should use to test their health before I use them together? Any rules about matching capacity? Also, is there a BMS (like the ebay "red battery boards") that would be suited to using many cells together? I'm not really sure...

That... is a very, very open-ended question. I'd just say that if you can follow a pinout diagram, know the difference between signal and ground, and can solder half-decently, you'll be fine. And of course, if you encounter anything that warrants specific questions, folks here will be more than...

Always nice to have music during during a long hacking/modding session. A good set of headphones or speakers would be wise. If you can scrounge up old stereo speakers, you can get a nice stereo amplifier on Amazon for ~$30. I can link the one I have if anyone is interested.
