Unfortunately the process of removing the pak from the motherboard dislodged a lot of the wires. I haven't got the inclination to try a sort that mess out on the chance there could be one more wire I need to connect. It took me about 5 hours to wire all that up and trying to solder around stuff...

I only got as far as a basic trim and battery connection before my first board died. As yet I haven't trimmed my second one. I'm still working on the case.

When I was going to have the headphone jack on the top of the case there would have been no room for them vertically. Now I have moved it to the bottom the repositioning may not have been required.

For audio I went with this LM4863. I removed the pink headphone jack and replaced it with a less bulky black one, and the large caps are extended off the board with wires. I removed all the plastic bits also, to solder direct to the board.

You can buy an empty shell version easily enough, so no need to find a dead retail one to use. You can get the innards and buttons separately too. Have a look at my N64 build thread, I've modded a case and charging dock quite extensively.

I had the screen and the n64 running with the red board briefly, you can see the red board in this picture. Poking out between the controller ports. I haven't done any great amount of testing though.

Looking forward to seeing your docking solution. I'm calling it now, you'll be finished before I am. That red board is a good solution, I'm sure I got the info for it in the battery info thread on here.

I saw your YouTube vid on this a couple of days ago. I don't own a switch but it was a really fun watch and interesting project. They came out great.
