It actually seems doable. I recovered one trace but the solder connections keeping coming undone. And I guess I'll just use this time to learn off of other people.
The GC+ board is basically an original GameCube controller chip. It makes it easier to relocate the controller because it has places you can solder to rather than the chip legs.
I think I read about this problem somewhere... but I'm too lazy to go looking. I think @cheese said that you'll see problems like this when the sicks aren't wired up. I could be wrong though. Try wiring up the C-stick and see if the problem persists.

Since this will be my first portable I'll probably use a ZN-45 case from @Gman (hopefully). If not, I'm considering using a GameBoy Pocket organizer case.
Ok... due to a sudden boost in morale (and boredom) I've decided to put together a little worklog. I must warn you, however, since my money is really tight right now and since it's the end of the school year for me, this worklog is going to be very slow. With that being said, I'm not sure if I'm...
I'm doing the OM6 trim and I found it easier to just pull them off them rather than desoldering. I'm pretty sure this trim requires the same amount of regulators assuming you want the same functionality similar to a OMGWTF trim.
