Worklog Madmorda's First Wii Portable (Wii S Lite)

Have you already considered the PAM8803 Amp from the Portablizing BOM? It has volume control and an output for speakers like most amps. Here's the wiring diagram I used for wiring a headphone jack, it should work the same on the amp:

    4/4.3" Screen with 4:3

I've been looking for a screen either 4 or 4.3 inches with a 4:3 aspect ratio but have had no luck so far. Both the 4" and the 4.3" with 4:3 in the portablizing bom have been removed, and literally every other one I've found so far is 16:9. If anyone knows of a screen like this, please share :)

Question Calling all noobs (noob question thread)

A bit of a noob question but can the U5 be removed and replaced with the U10 before the board is trimmed? (So I know if the relocation worked before I trim). I ask because the U5 is an on board regulator component, and these have to be removed to use custom regulators, except I'd still be...

that is true, I did say that.

    Resistors for Custom Regulators

No, as long as it is between 4.5v and 18v it will have the same output based on your resistor. Though you should make sure the voltage listed on your capacitor is at least double your input voltage.

Question Adding Headphone Jack to Amp?

It is stereo for anyone still wondering. I've decided to leave out the headphone jack on this project because of the clicking issue that seems impossible to resolve. As Luke said, I think the issue has to do with the amp. I'll use a more documented amp next time that's confirmed safe to use with...

Question Adding Headphone Jack to Amp?

Well I didn't mess with the switch pins, just the other three. right now both the speakers and headphones play. Here's a video with the setup and the audio. Also, I switched out the speakers for psone speakers and got the same result.

Question Adding Headphone Jack to Amp?

Well I semi-fixed it. I tried it out with a psone headphone jack and got the same results. Out of curiosity, I turned down the volume and the audio sounds normal again. So for some reason when I wire the headphone jack, the speakers wont work at high volume (makes the tapping sound). If the jack...

Here are some pictures. Kind of hard to see because of the tight wiring..

Question Adding Headphone Jack to Amp?

That makes sense. I still haven't solved the first issue though, that being the two grounds wired together. I tried what you said (wiring to internal speakers AND a jack) but i still get the tapping sound. The speakers work up until the point where I wire both grounds together to the headphone...

Question Adding Headphone Jack to Amp?

Headphone port's ground and 5v power's ground are not connected. I think the issue is that the two headphone grounds are connected. Is there any way around this or are they supposed to be connected? Just doing what the diagram did. EDIT: I think I might be misunderstanding the diagram. Are the...

Question Adding Headphone Jack to Amp?

I just got the time to try this out, and there is a little problem from where I've gotten so far. I'm using a regular 3.5mm jack (not the psone). All I've done so far is wire the two grounds together and lead them to the headphone jack, also the left and right audio. When turning on (even...

Question Adding Headphone Jack to Amp?

I love that diagram! By "switch pin," I meant the two pins that switch the audio from speakers to headphones. I'm using a psone screen headphone jack, the pinout is this attached. Do I just leave headphone switch untouched?

Question Adding Headphone Jack to Amp?

So I have an audio amplifier that I hooked up my system's audio to. It is this one: http://m.ebay.com/itm/272313994576 All of the wires have been hooked up to their proper places. So now, how can I hook up a headphone jack to this amp as well? I have an idea where the left and right audio pins...

    Question Screens

I'm about to buy a 5 inch backup monitor from ebay for my portable, but before I do I wanted to make sure it'll work fine. https://www.ebay.com/itm/282298344204 The screen takes composite video and says it takes 6-32V and around 3W. Everything seems to be right, I'm just concerned because I've...

    Question Cooling recommendations

Sounds like a great deal! I'm using a zn-45, so if I apply these heatsinks and put a lot of ventilation holes in the case, that'll be the only requirement for cooling I need?

    Question Cooling recommendations

I think what I'll do is get a copper sheet and put it over the three chips, then when the portable is almost done I'll run it dead to see how hot it gets, which will determine if I need a fan.
