    Worklog FrankenDeck - PCSX2 Device

Ah fair enough. I just didn't want the added bulk of the HDMI driver when the laptop mainboard is perfectly capable of driving an LCD panel on its own. I look forward to seeing your progress, keep up the good work!

    Worklog FrankenDeck - PCSX2 Device

I too, like this idea. I considered repurposing an old laptop mainboard for mine but struggled with finding the information I'd need to be able to adapt a smaller screen to it (without having to use an external screen driver through HDMI). Keen to see how you end up doing it!

    Worklog DIY Concept UFO

Yeah I've been seeing pictures of this thing for a few months now. Kind of like a mix between mine and the real concept UFO. Keen to see if they actually make it to market!

Worklog Retro Lite CM4 - A StonedEdge and Dmcke5 collaboration

Slowly making some progress on the design. Top and bottom trigger buttons are done for now, but I will need to make some to test before I go too much further to ensure they work the way I hope. Front triggers shouldn't be a problem but the rear triggers (not pictured here) are a bit of a strange...

Worklog Retro Lite CM4 - A StonedEdge and Dmcke5 collaboration

Hopefully at least 2 hours under a heavy load. Some of the lighter consoles will hopefully last more like 4 hours but we won't really know till we try it.

Worklog Retro Lite CM4 - A StonedEdge and Dmcke5 collaboration

Introducing our new project, the Retro Lite CM4. A Raspberry pi Compute Module 4 based Retropie handheld in a switch lite form factor. Under the direction of StonedEdge I've begun designing the case to "clone" a nintendo switch lite case as closely as possible. Features we are hoping to include...

    Worklog Xbox Handheld

I drew them up manually in solidworks and machined them out of blank PCB material. Next time I'm going to use some proper design software and get my pcb's made professionally instead as getting the very fine 0.5mm spaced traces to work on the CNC was quite difficult.

Yep, that is my entry for the competition this year. Here's a link to the build log: https://bitbuilt.net/forums/index.php?threads/diy-concept-ufo.3339/

    Worklog Xbox Handheld

Oh right, cloud streaming. Sorry I thought you were talking about the console streaming option they've released on Xbox one recently. As for the PCB sure, it probably isn't that complicated. If you want to pay someone to do it you will still need to at least give them some drawings to describe...

    Worklog Xbox Handheld

Use some PCB design software (KiCad or Eagle for example) to design the pcb. There's plenty of places around that do small scale PCB manufacturing now, JLCpcb, pcbway, there's quite a few of them so take your pick. Hopefully you're fairly experienced with CAD because copying the shape of that...

    Discussion Share your pets

This is Oreo, he's a Ragdoll cross Burman and almost a year old now. He's cute, but a bit of an asshole most of the time. All of us have at least one or two scratches/bite marks on us at any time lol

    Release PS2+ Official Release

I've been looking at things like this for a more powerful of my windows based portable. There are very few details on this board, how does it handle video output? Ideally I'm looking for something like this with a well documented output for an LCD panel and some sort of input for a battery for...

    PS2 emulation inside a PSP 2001 ??

I'd probably just look for a whole console. Just check Facebook marketplace, eBay etc and see what you can find. You're looking for a PS2 slim I believe. Check the trimming guide first to ensure you're getting the correct version.

    PS2 emulation inside a PSP 2001 ??

The only readily available SBC computer I've found so far that can emulate ps2 is the lattepanda alpha. Even then it will struggle with most games, it will really only play the less intensive ones. It's a bit larger than a PSP on its own, by the time you include enough of a battery to keep it...

Question Raspberry Pi Portable Shopping List

You'll probably want to use retropie, it's an OS that you can load onto your SD card for your raspberry pi. There's a few other options too but retropie seems to be the most popular. Audio can be done in a variety of ways. Some of the full sized pi's have a headphone jack, which you can use to...

Question Raspberry Pi Portable Shopping List

For what it's worth, PlayStation is actually very easy to emulate. Even the Pi zero is capable of some PS1 emulation. Honestly though I'd aim for a pi 3b+ (or a 3a+ would work too and save you some space). N64 isn't even fully working on pi 4 yet, so don't count on amazing performance for it in...

Discussion Ideas, questions, etc, Post em here!

The spacing on those ribbons cables is pretty small, it will be difficult to solder. You can get extensions though, just count how many wires there are and search for a "FPC extension". Here's an example of one from one of my local places...

    Worklog DIY Concept UFO

They are actually soldered directly to the PCB. Not really sure if its a good idea or not. The board is supported by the inside of the grip but I suspect they could cause issues in the future if the solder joints get fractures in them from being pushed on. I'm planning to re-do the PCB's in this...

    Worklog DIY Concept UFO

Had the Wii U out again the other day so thought I'd grab some comparison shots to show size. Damn the Wii U gamepad has a horrible finish for photos, asside from the little scratches on the screen I swear the rest of it doesn't look that bad in person!
