    Worklog Benge BS2 Portable PS2

I was wondering would you be able to link the 15k pull down resistors you used? I'm trying those blue metal film ones and it's not completely accessing usb

Worklog Retro Lite CM4 - A StonedEdge and Dmcke5 collaboration

I've seen those mipi displays around eBay, if I were doing my own pi 4b unit would you recommend getting my hands on one of those displays? Most I've seen were about 2k resolution but I have also looked at the HDMI to 40pin TTL 5" setups on adafruit they just weren't ips

Worklog Ps2 portrait with pi smb

Well Easter weekend progress report. Burned my hand with my iron but it's been worth it. So rear of the case came together really well, have a removable mem slot 1. PS2 PMS led is sadly not as bright as I had hoped so I'll have to put a different RGB LED behind the logo, I do have a bright one...

    Worklog PSBlock Rev2

Looks amazing man! I bet you'll be way happier with it, the new screen will it be composite as well or possibly some vga or component?

PS2 refuses to turn on with batteries

Can't see the other side of the board but I see only one set of power wires, to me it looks like the 8.5v relocation the the linear reg is missing as well

    Worklog The Two PS2p

Yeah 1s is a single LiPo voltage, 2p is parallel so yes capacity is doubled. The battery 3v is 3v, using higher voltage or lower is not recommended it's a real time clock chip which is why a 3v button cell 2032 battery is used for this. The only thing the battery effects is the moving logo on...

    Worklog The Two PS2p

I hope you haven't wired the pms yet, if you wire the battery in a 2s fashion to the PMS you will fry the power unit as it is meant to run in a 1s2p fashion. I don't know what trim you are using but the ps2 pms requires an advanced trim, I saw a photo of a standard trim but that looks like...

Worklog Ps2 portrait with pi smb

Back in business folks! So advanced trim is complete, wired up and powering nicely. PS2pms is amazing, kinda wish I snagged a uamp as well but we will see where the pam8403 gets me. Currently I have to focus on case setup and placement of things, L and R buttons in my current design just don't...

    Worklog My first portable (PS2)

So just did an advanced trim myself and I'm fine with my sanding I can see the layers, I would say my multimeter is giving me the same sort of readings +/- some variation

Worklog GBA SP printed portrait mod

I was skeptical but I tired it with an amp prior to the mod and after and it does make an impact, it will be more noticable with an amped speaker setup like what they do on the normal gba. However it does clean up headphone sound too.

Worklog GBA SP printed portrait mod

So GBA SP portrait mod is done to where I want it. I tried a stereo mod but I wasn't really happy with the amplified sound, so I'm keeping it stock sounding. I did follow the guide from retrosix in the UK to cleaning up the noise in the audio, so there's a few extra capacitors added on the...

Worklog Ps2 portrait with pi smb

Project adjustments: Power changes, coming in the mail is a PS2 PMS in the later future I've decided as much as I liked the 2s3p setup I was going with, the power management of the ps2 just has to go and give me more space for moving things around. Doing this I can move back to the 26650s in a...

Worklog GBA SP printed portrait mod

Not very different actually, they are behind the front half and that kind of makes for a different feel to find it but it's still using a 6mm tactile relocated to the back shell. They have a more solid click, bit more pressure. I added a photo for a side by side. The tactiles are on a 45 angle...

Worklog GBA SP printed portrait mod

I decided to try my hand at a weekend project for modding a GBA SP into a portrait handheld. I got some inspiration from boxy pixel's GBA SP unhinged metal version (waiting on my order of one) that I did some searching for 3d printed shells and there are some to a degree of usability on...

    Worklog The PSBlock

Darn, I don't see why another 8 pin ethernet jack wouldn't work. So long as the coils go to the same spots may just need to look at the traces and you could be all set. Can always see what Gman has to say too

    Worklog The PSBlock

No need for eBay, the ethernet port you took off of the pi has the piece in the jack, you'll have to remove the pins and shielding, but that's where I got mine

    Worklog The PSBlock

@Gman I don't know if you want to way in on the capacitor method, I know you used it in your ps2 razer If BigButcher wants to try something else and has the ethernet port still from the pi the transformer in it was my guaranteed way to get the pi smb going, you mentioned using an older pi I...

Worklog Ps2 portrait with pi smb

Progress update, have a basic layout for my back shell pulled a bit of inspiration from the dmg gameboy with the ribbing on the side for handling. Got my batteries, 26650s are definitely awesome but leaning to a more difficult fitting. Back shell is a rough print for now, had adhesion issues...

    Worklog The PSBlock

Thanks, maybe I'll have to go take a look at the thickness of my portable walls, I'm sitting at about 155 mm wide by 172mm long and I'm trying to tweak things so my thickness isn't too bad. Currently ball park is 50ish mm but it fits in a 180mm print bed
