    Late night modding

I don't have a real pinout other than the thing I doodled. This is looking top down, with the square end pointing left. (Not to scale.) As for the buttons, the pictures above explains how I did on/off, had to trim away some of the plastic on the inside to get a flush fit. The Screenshot button...

    Late night modding

I took the board of a wired Gamecube controller, wired it directly to an 8bitdo Gbros adapter, and crammed it all into the shell of a Wavebird. I present the Davebird. It was a pretty easy mod, lots of room inside the wavebird. Had to make my own button or two though. Dual rumble motors. Had...

Worklog Sneak Preview of my second portable

Not sure if it will work with regular PLA. Initially I ripped apart a GBA SP hinge and made my own 3D model, scaled it up, and had Shapeways print it. Long story short: it worked, but not as well as I hoped. :( So I am now currently using two 3DS barrel axis hinges. One on each side.

Thanks. The screen I used was just a cheap backup camera kit thing from Amazon. On an unrelated note, since this is made out of Nylon, it takes to Rit's Synthetic fabric dye very well. I've attached a picture of an old trash piece that I tried this on. I should have done a better job sanding...

Done. Sort of. I still need to (learn how to) paint it, and cast these buttons. The little tits sticking out of the hinges will be flush after it's painted. I still need to disassemble it to paint it, and I fear if I push those all the way in now, I'll never get them out.

    PortablizeMii "Themes"?

Not sure where to post this, but I'm curious how difficult it would be to change the "theme" (if I'm using that word correctly) of PortablizeMii to something that looks and behaves like the Gamecube startup splash and Dashboard. I doubt it would be as easy as just replacing some files, and would...

    Discussion PowerMii call for contribution

I read through this whole post, and if I missed the answer, my bad. But will the files be released like you did the GC+? I'm not asking to be greedy or anything like that. Because you released the GC+ files, I was able to get a decent handle on board design when I incorperated it into mine and...

Oof! I'm in the middle of a very similar idea. Only mine is to take two chips, clean them up, and solder them together pads to pads so it's double sided. Also considering rounding it off so it's circular, and more like a coin. But I'll cross that bridge when i get there.

The amp works! Thanks @JacksonS The custom controller works! Thanks to the invention and sharing of the GC+ Love you @Aurelio And the Regulators work! Thanks @Stitches for pointing me toward the TLV62130. On my next revision, I intend to include 1 port battery charging while playing. Couldn't...

Have you uploaded your models to Shapeways and see how much they are gonna charge? If you havent yet, you might find it's suprisingly reasonable considering all the time and effort it will save you post printing. All you'd have to do is a little sanding, and you'll end up with a fantastic...

    Discussion How about a Sticker?

How about a precut vinyl sticker or something like it to cover up the GPU and CPU, using the screw post holes as your guide to line it up. Since it would be the exact shape it needs to be to trim a Wii and it would protect the chips from dust and debris, it would make the trimming process...

Good thing mine isn't going to be finished in time. Now I don't have to compete against this marvelous masterpiece. What a beauty.

One port Charge and Play chip?

If I'm barking up the wrong tree, or just completely and totally incorrect, my bad for wasting everyone's time . Now, I don't fully understand the data sheet, but perhaps a more experienced eye can let me know. This chip that I stumbled across seems worth checking out...

I'm not done yet, but there will be many more photos when I finish. Although the all white looks kinda sexy in this picture, it gets dirty way too easily, so I'll be painting it the colors from my 3D modeling screenshot. Shapeways printed it out for me. I want this thing to look as legit as...

    GC+ Flashing

Yeah, they are all there. I transplanted everything from a working GC+ (sacrilege and blasphemous I know) and everything worked on my pcb, but it kept wanting to go left. I know now after reading that it was likely because I didn't have the c stick wired up. But at the time, I thought perhaps I...
