Worklog Retro Lite CM4 - A StonedEdge and Dmcke5 collaboration

Currently working on a small dock PCB and design with Dmcke5. It connects to the front PCB (not yet pictured) via two 19/18 pin FFC connectors for HDMI and USB-C out. It contains 4 USB 2.0 downstream ports powered by the Cypress CY7C65642 chip for connecting wired controllers and adapters (such...

    BitBuilt's 2021 Summer Building Competition

While I agree that we shouldn't just dismiss new ideas in the community just because it hasn't been done before, creating a PS4 portable is very difficult to do given current battery technologies. Even if you use 8 x 18650s, that's only going to give you 100Wh. The PS4 draws anywhere between 90...

    Question G-Boy case Cad files

My design is a the only open source asset that uses a 3.5” screen at this stage. The rest are closed source, so you’re going to have to build your own if you want that size.

Worklog Retro Lite CM4 - A StonedEdge and Dmcke5 collaboration

Big thanks to both @Dmcke5 and @skent for their hard work over the past couple of weeks on contributing to our project. Skent offered to assemble some PCBs because I don’t have a reflow oven or microscope to do the fine pitched soldering of some of the parts we’re using... he’s done an amazing...

Worklog Retro Lite CM4 - A StonedEdge and Dmcke5 collaboration

We are currently in the process of ordering a new PCB revision due to a couple of screw ups on my end. The Hirose connectors are difficult to solder by hand as I thought and thus we will be getting them done via PNP to make sure they are perfectly centered. I also may have killed my CM4 by...

    N64SP v2 by Gman

A big thanks to Gman for letting me have a go at assembling an N64SP v2 portable. It's an amazing build and despite it being a thick chungus, it is surprisingly comfortable to play for long N64 gaming sessions. The new N64 Advanced Trimming Guide was easy to follow and the PIF breakout made...

Worklog Retro Lite CM4 - A StonedEdge and Dmcke5 collaboration

As Dmcke5 said several times in the worklog already, we don't really want to release the CAD files at the moment for a number of reasons: 1) The case doesn't print well at all on a 3D printer, which is what most people have access to as hobbyists. It's too thin and the raised triggers on the...

Question 3D printed case Cad Files

There isn’t really that many designs open that use a LMAO trim unfortunately. AFAIK the only open designs right now are the G-Wii, the Louii, the Aran and the WiiSPii. If you want to wait for a really awesome design, Wesk may be releasing his files for the Ashida wavebird, but that doesn’t need...

    The Wii SPii

I went old school Wesk style and made a little video with commentary after finally fixing this after 3 months of inoperability. I’m moving on now and have been enjoying playing it these past few days, especially Resident Evil 4 and Super Mario Galaxy. I hope to see someone else have a go at...

    The Wii SPii

Hi, not sure what you mean by the same build but similar fundamental components were used. A lot of the power circuitry was based on the RVL-PMS code open sourced by Gman. The housing and PCB were entirely custom designed though, so the PCBs in the Gboy don’t fit in this build. Hope that answers...
