Worklog The Lombardii - First (and a half) portable

The case work looks great so far! Adding custom PCBs is a good idea too it makes it a lot easier to disassemble your portable if anything goes wrong. Also your trim looks good but I would remove the 5v capacitor at the top right too before powering it.

Worklog Nontendo Woi - My first portable

First to answer your questions 1)You might want to double check your wiring for the fan to see if that is the issue or try removing the hot glue with rubbing alcohol. Also a major issue with this is you don’t have a heatsink. Your Wii will definitely overheat with that setup because you only...

Question Should I use the Gamecube disc drive or Wiikey... or?

It’s also a pain to have to wire at least 25 wires for a wasp or a disk drive not to mention the fact that you have to wire to an FFC for the wasp. With the Wii you only have to wire 4 wires for usb and it’s a lot easier.

    Worklog GarageFactory's New Wii Portable

I made some progress.... But more progress will be slow since school started up again unfortunately. I'm trying to get access to my school's makerspace because their 3D printers are a lot better than mine. Heres the back of the case the design is pretty simple enough room for 4 18650s, fan and...

    Worklog GarageFactory's New Wii Portable

Yeah there's one built in with a lot of options if you click the model button which is in the toolbar it gives you a few options for your design and one of them is rendering. You can edit the material of the model, change the scene, edit the lighting and a lot more. I did a test print of the...

    Worklog GarageFactory's New Wii Portable

A while ago I had been working on a Wii portable in Inventor then I decided to scrap the whole thing and start over. I started working on a case in Fusion360 and I'm pretty close to finishing the design. This design is pretty similar to the previous one I made in inventor. I have all the parts...

    Worklog XL-DMG-N64P

I would suggest posting pictures of where you connect composite, where you connect power and maybe the cart slot relocation as well. We won't be able to answer any questions without pictures unfortunately. However I would recommend testing with a different source of voltage if you can because it...

Worklog Unnamed Wii Portable 2nd attempt

The cutting disk will work just fine for trimming the board I used the same one for my trim. As for the battery it most likely doesn’t have the capacity listed in the description. I would recommend checking these batteries out most people use them and they have the capacity advertised. You would...

    Question Soldering Iron Suggestions

I have had the Hakko 888-D for around 2 years now maybe more and its been working great since I bought it. You wont regret your purchase you may have to buy a new tip every once and awhile but they are cheap and with all the money I saved on crappy radio shack irons I spent on more Wiis!

    PS2 Portable Assorted Issues

Check if Blue has 7v or whatever your input voltage is and then check if green has 5v and black is ground Audio will only work if that regulator is outputting 5v Also the hailraizer mod is replacing the default 5v regulator with a more efficient regulator iirc

    PS2 Portable Assorted Issues

I don't think any system settings need to be changed its probably a short on your board or bad wiring. Also did you check to see if you have 5v coming out of the regulator next to the audio
