Discussion Wii Power Management System (open source)

Nope! There’s an onboard 5V boost regulator which you can use to power USB and your screen. Most fans can run off of 3.3V and it’s better to run them off of that, otherwise they’ll be very loud. :P

Question looking for a good 5" screen for my portable

Nah the one wudopecker linked is the correct screen for the G-Wii. The case was designed around a specific panel so that's what you need to use unless you plan on modifying the case files to support a different display. Also, as you mentioned AV only is a huuuuge downside when it comes to the...

My MGC project, finally revealed! This will be a full recreation of @TodorSauce's N64P, a project that truly inspired me to jump feet first into portablizing, in CAD as well as being fully 3D printed for neat internals and clean wire management. :D I've been debating over whether to keep this as...

Looking for the parts for a portable wii, or an already built portable wii

An already put together portable or commission for that matter can cost anywhere from $800-$1500+ depending on who you are buying it from. There is no "master list" of parts that a lot of people expect for a portable, however if you spend some time reading threads such as the G-Wii case files...

    Worklog My first Wii micro

None of that is unrealistic, should be a fairly straightforward project to put together. USB-C will be possible using a breakout board designed for 5V in tandem with either PTH regs or a PowerMii Lite. Since you're using a 6-layer keep in mind that if you're going to 3D print the case they get...

    Model G-Wii CAD files

You’ll have to import the SolidWorks assembly. Gman provided both the assemblies for rev 1 and rev 2 of the G-Wii. You’ll be able to edit them the same as any old Fusion model once you do.

    Worklog Gman's MGC64 thing

There are plenty of tutorials for 3D CAD modeling online. Gman uses solidworks but there are other programs available such as Fusion 360 or Autodesk Inventor that are able to be used for designing a case for a portable.

    Solved Pad Labeling on GC+

R9 is the topmost resistor on that side and R2 is the resistor below it. They're placed closely so it's kind of hard to see that.

where in the world do you live?

Michigan! It's pretty nice here... as long as you don't stay for the winter! Sometimes it's so cold my nose hairs freeze when I go outside. But, hey, we don't get earthquakes and tornadoes are extremely rare, so I guess I can't complain too much?
