    Discussion N64 Noob Thread

Oh, so you don't have respect for the person who basically allowed you to make all of your portables? Say what you will about SS's earlier portables, but without him more than half of the advancements made in this hobby would be non-existent. What have you done for the hobby? If you've been...

    Worklog Noah's GameBoy "Flash carts"

I have a design in the works already, I actually started it way back when I was working on the GBC carts. I'd rather release my own design than just buy and resell bootleg games for a couple of reasons. For one, I can source my parts from trusted distributors so that I know they're authentic...

    Worklog Noah's GameBoy "Flash carts"

Nope. The reason the current flasher is $20 is because it uses a $4 FTDI IC, plus the microcontroller which is usually $2-$4, not to mention the cart slots themselves or the other miscellaneous components needed. The newer microcontroller I'm using can be directly interfaced through USB which...

Yep! I'm writing new software for both programmers but only the newer one will have GBA compatibility.

    Worklog Noah's GameBoy "Flash carts"

You can easily program a microcontroller to do both. BennVenn is the only one who currently offers a solution that has all of the features, hence the $50 price tag. When others come to market he'll be forced to add more features or drop the price if the other product is of equal quality. He...

Flasher will be available again shortly, waiting on parts for a new batch. I've never tested this flasher with the Chinese bootlegs. If it can't flash them it's a software limitation rather than a hardware one. I'm currently writing new software that will allow those to be flashed and allow for...

That would be more of a XenForo 2.0 thing. I'm currently working on infrastructure for the imgur-esque uploading site I talked about. I'll have more details soon, but basically it'll be tied to your forum account and allow you to upload as many images as you want with no compression.

    Guide RCP 27/28Wiring Guide

You can relocate cart slots with 30 gauge, probably 34 as well. There's nothing "wrong" with Bungles guide but IIRC Marshall has stated it's best to use all of the 3V3 and GND lines (meaning wire all 50 or whatever it is)

You sir, are correct. I'm currently on vacation so I didn't see this. If people are ready and have the $40 to put down as of today (I know a few people PM'ed me) then shoot me another PM and I can add you in. @link270 @Toaster912 @E64

    Worklog Pcb for TI PTH08080WAH

You had plenty of time to put yourself on lmao. I'll be blunt, if you have to question the resistance needed to reach the desired voltages you probably aren't ready to design a PCB for any regulator.
