Guide Miscellaneous diagram thread (MX, Bluetooth module pinouts, etc)

Hey folks! Back when I was doing my research into "soft shutdown" I created a couple of pinout diagrams for the Wii Bluetooth module and the MX23L4005 mask rom chip ("MX"). The MX pinout has been floating around Discord but I wanted to share these diagrams here for posterity. Edit...

Question RVL AMP presses volume up constantly

The headphone sense castellated pad (HS) on the RVL-AMP is directly electrically connected to the tip switch pad for the headphone jack. I’m not sure why you would need to add an additional wire here, unless you severed the trace between HS and the headphone jack somehow.

Question RVL AMP presses volume up constantly

You'll be soldering to vias on the Wii motherboard, use magnet wire. Edit: do you mean twisted magnet wire, like for USB? If so, no, just use 2 individual magnet wires.

Question N64 Controller Board - First KiCad Project

Looking good! I would fatten up those voltage traces, and make sure your decoupling capacitors are placed as close their IC pins as possible. @marhalloweenvt fun fact - the "no 90 degree routing" has mostly been debunked.

Worklog [2024 Contest Entry] WavePhoenix - Open-source implementation of the Nintendo WaveBird protocol

Update time! Lots of progress since my last post. Performance The performance is now pretty solid. The packet rate and range is comparable to the OEM WaveBird receiver. I still think there is a lot of room for improvement. Firmware Updating We now have support for firmware updating! The should...

Worklog [2024 Contest Entry] WavePhoenix - Open-source implementation of the Nintendo WaveBird protocol

Quick performance tuning update - I've managed to get the packets per second to an acceptable rate on the Series 2 SoCs! There is still a lot of tuning I want to do, but as of right now, I'm really close to the OEM performance in terms of throughput. It turns out I was wrong about this, the...
