Hey,I think if you want something easier to start,you can try a Wii micro or @Xenii's wire free Xii boy ultra

First you have to delicatly scratch the via to expose the copper,and then you can add your wire with a little bit of solder at the end and finally use some solder flux(this one helps a lot )

Don't worry,it's a very common error,everybody have it.You just need to solder in a better way your two data lines and keep them as short as possible.By the way,if you can send pictures of your soldering that will be very helpfull :)

Nah, your wii looks good on the trimming part but you forgot to relocate the u10. Here is how you Can Do And also,for the future,I recommend you to get off the metal plate of the 1.8v regulator,I think it will help the future wiring.
