I've looked around online and it seems like nobody has done this yet.
I have a broken GameCube and was wondering if this was something I could do.

you should use the ribbon connector to solder to so its not so hard to solder to the actual cable.

Long time viewer, first time poster. I did this last year with the help of this forum and I think it came out okay. I also soldered directly to the ribbon cable for use of the controllers and reset button. I hardwired the analog output for component and also wired in a cheap-o component to hdmi adapter. (You can't use both at once, but that's fine to me) At first I was using micro-USB to power the whole thing and it worked for a while, but it really needed more wattage than what a 2amp 5v usb could provide, so I went back to the stock 12v psu for the gamecube and it works great with no issues. I also wired in the 1st player memory card slot later on but haven't had a chance to test it. It's not really needed with nintendont anyways. It just makes the front look stock. The USB ports fit nicely in the underside as well.

Let me know if you have any questions. I've attached some pictures as well.
