Question Wiring an SD Card Reader to a PS1?

Is it possible, and if so is there a guide to wire an SD Card Reader like the PS2 Portables do but with a PS1? I got my PS1 for $1 from j4u, it works, just the disc reader is broken, and I am not paying $30 for a disc reader, I'd rather use up some spare wires and an SD Card I have.

The PS1 does not support any game loading methods like that without major additional hardware and software. With a PS1 you have 2 options for loading games besides using original discs. You can install a modchip to allow playing burned backup CDs (which requires a working disc drive), or you can purchase and install an ODE (Optical Drive Emulator) like the Xstation/PSIO/MODE that physically replaces the disc drive with a flash memory loading system
