Question Wii trim testing help

Hi guys,
Was instructed to move my queries here as opposed to a worklog.
Have followed the trim guide and can't seem to get the wii to boot.
ive attached a bunch of photos which should help clarify my setup.

we've been talking about reducing variables, right? ;-)
So, remove those batteries & use a PSU. Remove USB also (data wires might be a little long anyways) & solder reset to gnd to bootup priiloader.

Then shorten the wires of the regulator, as short as possible.
After that, turn it on & measure the voltages on the board.

(Also did you check for shorts between each of the different voltage lines [and gnd ofc]?)

And did you recheck the U10 after trimming?

okay great!
I have done the following:
I shortened the regulator wires.

I matched my resistances spot on to the guide and was achieving voltages within +-0.05v when testing without load.

With load the voltages dropped by 0.10-0.15v.
I have not soldered to the reset via as after I did my u10 relocation before trim I covered it in hot glue to secure it down and covered the whole area so can't really access the point that easily.
How do I check the U10 after trimming?
I may have to try and remove all the hot glue.
check the voltage lines on the regulators?

Shank has a guide that can walk you through testing U10 to make sure it's doing what it's supposed to.

Like Nold said, make sure there's no shorts.

Are the grounds of all your regs connected together, and then soldered to the Wii? Not sure if I'm blind, but I can only see one ground wire in those photos and it's connected to the USB port. (the data wires for which are way too long)

There is a short between the 1.15v line and GND. Also seems there is a short between the pin and the shell on my AV cable for some reason. Could these be the issues ?

Did you measure the resistance on the voltage lines? cause they might be very low (like about 30Ohm from 1V to GND IIRC)
1.15V has nothing to do with the AV Port, it's used by the CPU mainly. Check the compendium, it'll tell you where the 1.15V "is/exists/lives/..".. (missing a word here...)

You might need to get back to sanding or there is something stuck under the cpu/gpu from trimming the board.

okay testing resistance for the following voltage points:
1v to GND: 154 ohms
1.15v to GND: 60 ohms
3.3v to GND: continuisly changing doesnt settle on a value.
5v to GND: continuisly changing doesnt settle on a value.

Also ran through the u10 test guide and seems all okay.
Removed the hot glue on the voltage points and the u10, re-soldered it all and it boots!!
It seems to start up every second or third time, but the screen flickers and some times it freezes. How do I fix these issue?

hello,after ruining 2 wii, i found that connecting all regulators grounds with 24 guage or above wires sepratorly to one point ground on wii will do the trick. and all usb faults wii be gone, i do not know why. but it works
