Question wii trim not working

hey all!
yesterday i trimmed a wii and wanted to test it before continuing my ashida portable journey. for some reason: I'm not able to get an component output whatsoever.
to clarify a few things: I'm using 20AWG wire, my battery measures 4.14V, I'm getting 1V, 1.14V, 1.78V and 3.27V from my PMS2, resistances look fine, the wii gets warm when powering on and gets all the right voltages, U10 makes a solid connection, I've switched between all points on the wii that are for outputing component (caps on the front, point near C57 on the back), i confirmed that the cable and tv are working, port is working as well and i didn't accidentally switch component and ground in my twisted wire, I've tried shielded wire for the port as well. and yes i did install rvloader and patched out wifi.
I'm a little lost because i don't know what to try next. any ideas? I have included pictures below.

To get component output, you need to have 3.3v connected to a MODE location. The TP47 pad by the audio pre-amp is the most convenient spot for this.

If you have installed the VGA patch, you'll need to use the debug shortcut to temporarily disable VGA mode in order to use component video. Turn the system on, disconnect 3.3v from MODE, then reconnect 3.3v to MODE to enable debug mode and automatically switch to component video. You can do this easily by wiring a latching on/off switch between the 3.3v source and the MODE pad.

oh i see! I'm a bit confused tho because in the past i have done the exact same trim and i got video output with no problems whatsoever!
I've been following his video for all my trims and he doesn't do any "MODE" stuff either. One thing that I've noticed is that the Wii won't output anything through component cables but it switches to component mode once i plug and unplug the cable. This only worked on the Wii pre-trim tho. I don't understand whats going on and why his trim works.

If this was after you installed RVLoader and the VGA patch, this is normal behaviour. The Wii's AV port has a 3.3v pin and a MODE pin that short together when you plug in component cables to enable 480p. By unplugging and replugging the cable while the system is on, you activated debug mode without realising it.

i just tried it but it doesn't work either! i tried a toggle switch and a momentary button switch but none worked. i also changed the wiring for the component between all the available points on the wii board mentioned in the trim guides. sadly never worked!
i rechecked the voltages and on the pms2 board I'm getting 1V, 1.14V, 1.79V and 3.27V but on the points i soldered the cables to on the wii I'm getting 0.956V, 1.098V, 1.751V and 3.241V. is it possible that this isn't enough for the wii to fully boot? should i try different wires / shortening my wires further?

i remember reading in the wii undervolt "guide" that "1v is pure silicon lottery, some can run at 0.8v while others can barely manage 0.99v.". I might have to look into that since its only getting 0.956V. do the others sound fine?

oh wow I've been saying "component" the entire time. i meant composite! I'm really sorry

Ah, not an uncommon mistake. Composite only works when MODE is disconnected from 3.3v, so it *should* have worked first up if the trim has no issues. Visually it seems fine, I'm not sure what to suggest

Can i be sure that the trim has no issues solely based on the resistance values looking good or could it still have issues? The resistance values only indicate if there is a short between the voltage lines, other issues will pass that test and require more involved troubleshooting. Your resistances look fine to me, so there's likely something else at play. First thing I can suggest is reflowing all the solder joints. Your 1.8v wire in particular looks like it might not be making good contact with the Wii

If vga is YES that means you are running on vga but you are using composite. Your vga needs to be NO to use composite correct me if I’m wrong?

That is incorrect. The VGA patch replaces YPbPr component output, which is activated by supplying 3.3v to the MODE line. When MODE is left floating, composite video works the same with or without the VGA patch.
