Question where are some good places to start?

I'm looking for good place to learn to make a Wii portable. I've already got a good idea about the software side of things i know how to hack a Wii but I'm now so sure about the hardware so here are a few questions

• what are some good links/tutorials to get started with ?
  
• how much will this cost in total (a rough estimate is fine)?
• what equipment will i need ex: a soldering iron, dremel etc?
• how much electronics knowledge will i need ?
• any other tips and stuff would be a great help also.

I dunno about 10 times more, but yeah definitely have a full read through of the Guide Hub. I also recommend reading some worklogs here https://bitbuilt.net/forums/index.php?forums/wii.123/&prefix_id=3 , it'll give you an idea of some common problems you may face and how to solve most of them before you even pick up tools.
