Hi i want to have a sensor bar i my portable project, so i will use ir diodes placed in front of the console. What wavelength should i use, or it doesn't matter? How many of them is requided, orginal wii bar uses plenty of them, when some diy projects use only 4.

940nm wavelength IIRC. You only need two for close range usage, spaced something like 120-140mm apart with just the tip of the LED protruding from the case.

If you have trouble getting a wiimote to track them correctly, just play with how far out the LEDs protrude from the case. If too much of the LEDS poke out, their light can cross and mess with the IR camera, and if they don't stick out enough it may not be able to see both properly.
