Hi all, just want to preface this by saying this is my first Wii portable and I am also a novice when it comes to soldering (as will be evident).
Finally trimmed my Wii today, followed the omgwtf trimming guide. I had a few big hurdles:
At first all my resistances were funky, but after a bit of sanding all but the the 1 and 1.5 are good. With the 1 and 1.5 the resistances are just about half of what they should be and since they didn't go away with sanding, I just figured that specifically those two were weird.
I couldn't fully unsolder the av port so I just cut the whole thing off
I couldn't remove the 1.8 reg so I just chopped the pins so it couldn't complete its circuit.
Other than that and my crappy soldering I think I have all the pms stuff wired up correctly
Moving on to the component out, I tried soldering to that one resistor in the diagram but it kept popping off cause the pad is so small, and eventually the resistor just burned off. After that I soldered the ground to the ground on the board and the component to the via below the component resistor. Still no video out. I don't think it's a power delivery issue, I could hear it buzzing and I could feel heat on the chip. Any help (no matter how scathing) would be amazing.

For a start you should clean off all that burnt flux with some isopropyl alcohol. Burnt flux can cause transient shorts that'll stop the system from booting
