So, I've been working on my portable and the joycon joysticks are acting up.
The connections seem to be good, but I am not getting much input on the joysticks.
What happens is, all my buttons work fine, but the joysticks will not respond.
Sometimes the c stick will randomly twitch onscreen, and the GC configurator momentarily responds to the L stick but then says "keep turning" in sticks wizard.
I've tried to mess around with deadzones, deadzone style, etc, but nothing seems to be working.

Got any photos of the wiring?

I can get some later. I don't think it's the wiring though. The buttons work fine and the joystick wires are pretty clean.
The data wire from the GC+ is a bit long, though.

Have you tried testing the continuity of the wires? I've had issues soldering enamel wire like that in the past where the insulation didnt melt away entirely and I was getting an intermittent connection.

Another thing it might be is a short circuit, looks like the solder on the two right most wires in the first picture might get close enough to touch sometimes

I checked the continuity, and nothing is shorting.
The sticks don't seem to respond at all.
What am I missing?

I don't want to be annoying, but my project has ground to a halt because of this issue, and I can't seem to find any information on it.
The sticks are connected fine, and all the buttons work, but the sticks are refusing to respond.

Try connecting GameCube analogs and c stick if they work then your gc+ and wiring work. If they don’t work then try re soldering the analogs.

OK, I just don't have analogs, although I have a controller I can tear apart to test.

Going out on a limb, but do you have the joycon FFC cable in the correct way up?
