I'm not following. The only way to wire the cartridge slot up if you cut off the leads is to wire to the RCP, PIF, and CPU I believe.

i used continuity on some pins on the cart slot and they made connection to some of the little components on the back where the chips would be

I would assume that some will have vias to the backside but not all (but I really don't know, haven't looked into it). Either way it's going to be a tedius, easy-to-mess-up relocation, and will only save 2mm-4mm more than what the bend can accomplish.

right, i wouldn't know that myself, however, if it was possible i'd assume it wouldn't be as bad as rcp wiring. since we all know board bending is better we'll just stick to that..lol ill drop the rcp talk.

RCP wiring would be simple if there was say a flex cable to do it with. The problem often lies with wire length. If a flex cable similar to the one the UltraHDMI uses was developed for cartridge slots I'd cut the top portion off no problem.

A high-end flex could also incorporate the trimmable traces between the CPU and RCP as well.

crazy idea... remake the whole board as a flex, then we can just bend the flex to our designs (jk, ofc)

Realistically the entire left half of the board (CPU traces) could be redesigned as a flex and we could chop that space off. Same with the cartridge slot, both could be incorporated into one flex that would shrink the board a significant amount.
