Hi everyone. I'm not quite done with my current portable yet, but my head is already buzzing with new ideas for my next. I'm hoping with my next build I'll be able to cut back on the size for a much slimmer form factor. The question: are there good thinner alternatives to the 18650 cells?

Off the top of my head the thinnest battery I can think of would be a LiPo cell, those flat packs that sometimes make their way into slim battery packs or phones. I've seen a lot of these online and most of them are 3.7V like the 18650 cells, so battery circuitry wouldn't need a lot of adjustments. I also know that there are a lot of horror stories when it comes to these things overheating and expanding like crazy before catching on fire. I'm also worried about limited discharge rate, since the Wii can draw pretty high amperage depending on how many components are running.

Does anyone have experience using these LiPo cells or have a suggestion for a different type of battery?
